Based on a solid 6 minutes of scouting, I strongly advocate for Gatewood.

I'd love to concur, but perfectgame.com is down for me.

I half expect Bud to go to the podium and ask whether anyone has seen his teeth?

KL's Gatewood analysis
Analysis: An all-or-nothing prospect: Gatewood has huge raw power and very little present feel to hit, but if it clicks, you might have a 30-35 homer third baseman or right fielder who hits in the middle of your lineup. The risk that he never gets out of Class A, however, is real.

Quotes about Gatewood's POWER from Mayo and Callis:

Jacob Gatewood, SS, Clovis (Calif.) HS
Gatewood has the most power potential in the Draft,

Gatewood has the most raw power in this class, and the chance of him being an impact player might be too much for the Rays to pass up.

You would think that some adult in the room would tell this kid to take the giant wad of fucking dip out if his mouth before going on national TV.

I posted this recently in the Draft Prep thread:

I have scouted plenty of UVA games living here in Charlottesville.  All 3 of their draft eligible studs are projected to possibly be available either as late first rounders or sandwich pick choices.  Sweet swinging Mike Papi's stock, already high, might be going up even more because he is so hot right now.  Derek Fisher, Nick Howard and Mike Papi could conceivably all be available when the Sox make each of their top 3 picks but maybe not.  Fisher and Papi have been hampered by the cavernous dimensions of home Davenport field but Howard's stuff looks like it can't be hit anywhere.  John Farrell's son is a UVA alumnus.  He was here with his father, the guest speaker, at their winter baseball banquet.  The elder Farrell's fondness for UVA players and their program was genuine.  Recent draftee Reed Gragnani has been a revelation this year in A ball though he might need to move off 2B if he can make the majors with the Sox.  Right now, Gragnani can't even crack the Red Sox top 40 prospects according to some but his BA and OBP are for real:

He is a switch hitting 21st Century version of David Eckstein and, because he gets the most out of his limited talent, I won't be surprised to see him eventually being a useful major league player one day.  Lefty swinging Fischer and Papi plus flame throwing Howard have greater more projectible tools but, like Gragnani, will get the most out their talents.  Next year, Nathan Kirby (a 1 hit 8 inning shut out tournament win last night), Joe McCarthy and maybe a couple of others could likely get drafted even higher than these 3.

While it would be a stretch to draft all 3 if they are available, I won't be surprised if the Sox don't get at least one of them.  UVA has become one of the top college programs and their coaching staff is second to none.  They emphasize pitching, quality defense and fundamentals.  If the Sox draft any more of these UVA studs, they will get players who know how to play the game correctly already.

Would rather avoid lottery tickets at this stage. Hoping for Fisher based on scouting reports.

Chavis writeup from MLB.com

While Chavis doesn't wow scouts with any single aspect of his game, he could develop into a player with solid tools across the board. He also offers interesting versatility, as he could play the middle infield if he attends college at Clemson, profiles best as a third baseman in pro ball, also has seen some time in the outfield and might even get a shot at catcher. Known as more of a line-drive hitter, he surprisingly won the home run derby at the Perfect Game All-American Classic, beating out noted prep sluggers such as Braxton Davidson, Michael Gettys and Alex Jackson. Chavis consistently makes hard contact at the plate and projects as a possible .275 hitter with 18-20 homers in his prime in the big leagues. Chavis has the arm strength to play anywhere in the infield. While he may have enough quickness to play second base or shortstop, he likely will wind up at the hot corner.
