The knock on G is that he doesn't project physically. He's 6'1" and he's filled out. So not much projection left. But he's solid.

Going to the Dodgers here presumably.

For those saying we would go college bat, KL has #17 Virginia OF Derek Fisher sitting out there.

Per KL:
Analysis: Fisher is among the best athletes among college position players and has looked good coming back from a broken hamate bone he suffered in March. He's a plus runner with BP power but has struggled on defense, even in left field.

The Tigers are probably on him next.

So who do we want to get?  Give me a name so I can jump in the air and fist-pump when we get him.

Chavis - SS - high school

Best Available according to Baseball America:

19 Sean Reid Foley HS RHP
20 Monte Harrison HS OF
21 Jacob Gatewood HS SS
22 Derek Hill HS OF

Harrison and Hill are thought to be among the best pure athletes in the first round with raw but plus tools.  Both need to forego college.  HS pitchers are so risky.  It's amazing that so many have been picked so far.  As I type this, Hill is gone.  If Harrison makes it to 25, he has to be the guy.  He fits an organizational need and is the BPA.

Not really. College bat like Fisher, the UK kid, and Blandino. Other options are hopefully Gatewood and Michael Chavis the Georgia HS infielder.

If the Sox are going to go with a college hitter, I'm thinking Alex Blandino of Stanford, a 3B who could be moved to an OF corner. Also Mike "better than Stan, not quite Big" Papi, OF from Virginia.

Living in Charlottesville and having seen him myself many times, he would be an awesome pick and not at all a reach.  He also fills a team need although he will be limited to LF as a pro.  Some mock drafts have him lasting until pick #33.  Harrison and Fisher would be a nice combination if the picks fall just right.

Hey Harold, HS baseball is still being played. The season isn't over for all of them.

Touche?
I would love for the Sox to take Gatewood, put him in their player development system, and see if they can make it happen.
