So yah. The dodgers are going to be desperate for bullpen help at the deadline. Wonder if the sox could name their price in a hypothetical Jansen trade.

The Dodgers should be getting their actual closer back in the next couple weeks in Daniel Hudson.
True, but they need more than one arm out there, based on the results thus far. And the Dodgers won't be alone in the market for relievers

The Dodgers also have countless prospects, they cannot protect them all, and GMs love trading for relievers who have previous success already for that team (both Jansen and Martin for LAD). NY got Clayton Beeter from them for a Gallo rental at the deadline last year, he is now leading the AA Eastern League in ERA at 2.08.

The Dodgers need Jansen/Martin much more now than they did Gallo last year, so if Bloom wants to move them, I agree he can do well and that is a good fit both ways.

Apparently this was the biggest home shutout loss for the dodgers since 1898 when the Brooklyn Bridegrooms were blanked 15-0 by the Pittsburgh Pirates!

The Padres blew a 4-0 lead in SF. The Giants scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up 4-4 and send it to extras. Doval came in and held San Diego in the top of the 10th, then in the bottom half after an IBB and a sac bunt the situation was: tie game, men on 2nd & 3rd, 1 down, first base open, Mike Yaz who homered earlier in the game up, and on deck rookie Luis Matos who came up a week ago and was 0-4 on the day...so obviously they decided to pitch to Yaz, who proceeded to hit a three run bomb into McCovey Cove. Giants win 7-4.

Questionable decision making by the Padres, but a great finish for the home crowd.

The Giants came from behind to walk off the Padres for a 2nd night in a row, this time with a bases loaded walk from Hader to Joc Pederson. They have now won 9 straight.

In other streak news, the Reds won their 10th straight, to remain half a game up on Milwaukee.

Yep and while the NL is all going streaking, in the East it's the Braves who are on W7. Some fun stories in the NL right now.

Miami hanging tough out there is awesome, even with a tough 2-0 loss to the Blue Jays tonight.

The Diamondbacks are still my binky this year, though. What an awesomely fun team.

Pederson also hit a HR in the 8th to tie it .

Rays have been scuffling, but beat BAL this afternoon to get a split with them. A bunch of very close losses with some fluky plays and bad timing, though, so even their scuffling has been solid lately.

The Mets are going to be a fascinating study of billionaire psychology at the deadline. Can Cohen bring himself to be a seller?

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Mariners rolling over to MFYs yet again. This time with their ace against some nobody.

Yaz actually has the most walk-off splash hits in Giants' history with 2. There have only been 4 total. The other two are from Crawford and Bonds.
