They're taking on north of $5 million in the deal, so at the moment they have less than $2 million in cap space. Didn't move salary out, return was meh. Dano is a nice piece but Anisimov is meh, and makes $3.3 million.

Anywho, Bieksa to Anaheim for a 2.

Yeah very weird move for Chicago. That's a case where I'd say you'd rather take any offer sheet in that $6m range, as it wouldn't include Anisimov's $3.3m (unless they think they can find a taker with assets coming back for him).

Wings buy out Stephen Weiss - he would be a very interesting option for the B's if they can move Kelly IMO. Cap hits:

2015-16: $1,066,667
2016-17: $1,066,667
2017-18: $2,566,667
2018-19: $1,666,667
2019-20: $1,666,667
2020-21: $1,666,667

TMZ is reporting that Mike Richards' border crossing incident involved him carrying oxycodone. http://www.tmz.com/2015/06/30/nhls-mike-richards-nhl-notified-about-oxycodone-drama-at-canadian-border/ …

Our sources say Richards was stopped while crossing from the United States into Canada on June 17th ... and we're told he was questioned about oxycodone pills, a powerful painkiller.
For the record, Richards has NOT been charged with a crime.

Damnit, fuck the Rinaldo trade. I would have traded a second for Bieksa all day.

If this is anywhere close to being the issue, the guy could be in serious trouble, and I mean that both legally and from a personal safety point of view. What I'm not too sure about is how this constitutes a material breach of his contract. It's the off-season. He didn't miss a game or a practice. Obviously, still a lot to learn about the details of the matter.

Soon to be making 4.55 for 5yrs.
Hawks extended him, that is one puzzling move.
How are they going to fit Seabrook into the fold as well?

Maybe they think Richards is out the door/wouldn't accept another 1 year, $2m-type deal and they prefer at least one Handzus-type player as 2C/3C (presumably Teravainen grows into 2C)
