Go f*ck yourself
Tuned in to try and catch some mort bashing but got treated to Callahan letting us know that the only reason the shooter of that TV crew was ever employed is because he's black and gay. Click.

I hope they give out Mort's cell phone number on the air. That's probably the most damaging thing they could do to him that doesn't involve physical violence.

You know, I always assumed D&C appealed to an older audience, but they're apparently working really hard to get that 12-15 demo.

Florio: If the real numbers had come out that night, the Pats would have been able to have a presser the next day and say 'leave us alone, we're getting ready for a SB.'
Gary: Instead, the coach threw TB under the bus. (way to go, Gary!)
Florio: Mort (and King) is being shady, never corrected wrong info.
Florio: NFL never gave me the real numbers.... NFL kept NEP off balance by not giving out correct info. Their silence was on purpose to hurt the Pats.

Florio on did Kraft apologize to Mort: I doubt that was an on the record apology. Mort should be upset with his sources, he has taken the fall for his sources.

Tanguay seems to be getting a lot of heat, whether it's from callers/twitters, or whatever.  Question, does EEI see this as a good thing? And think that giving him the mid-day job would be the right call?  I rarely listen to MFB anyways, but if you throw Tanguay in there, I'll never turn my radio on EEI from 10-2.

The ratings will be even worse with Tanguay if he gets the midday job. He is a retread who has failed with a full time gig in the past. The only reason people listen is because they want to hear either Dennis or Callahan if he's on.

Gary Tanguay is the dumbest of any on air personality that I can think of right now.  He is incapable of putting a cogent thought together that has any logical consistency.   It's atrocious radio and as much as I wanted to hear Florio, I couldn't listen because of Tanguay's gargantuan stupidity.

You may want to pay more attention to the news. The guy leading the polls for D&C's political party of choice just did the same thing to an opponent, so it seems like it'd be right up their alley.

Definitely kirky trolling.  He also retweeted a bunch of people declaring how awful Tanquay is.
I just don't understand how he's on, I understand people tuning in to watch a car wreck, but he's not even entertaining in the bad sense, he's just bad bad.

BTW, the next time Minihane calls Bart Hubbuch or whoever out for blocking him on twitter just know that he's a complete fraud. Blocked me for giving him shit in a reply to some tweet he made where he was giving shit to someone else.

Huh could you explain for those of us who are not on Twitter? What exactly did he say to you? What did you say to him? Maybe if you "gave him shit" in your own words by swearing at him, he'd have good reason to block you. I definitely would not like some random person swearing at me for no reason.

I listen to their podcasts which is ideal because you can pick and choose when it goes off the rails.  They've been excellent on deflategate, holding Sal Palantonio's, Mortensen's and others' feet to the fire.  Callahan's stubborn insistence (a liability on politics) is a real asset here.

It's been fascinating to follow Tanguay of late.  First off, he is the biggest moron I've ever heard on sportstalk and that's saying something.  But for the last couple of weeks, Minihane and Callahan have been calling him stupid and a moron over and over and he's allowing it.  Seems like a bad strategy to be painted as dumb to listeners - why would they ever take you seriously after that?  He seems desperate to catch on at EEI, but I'd guess this can only backfire.  I don't think I've ever seen a co-host - who aspires to have his own show - allow himself to be humiliated on a daily basis.

What I'm finding amusing is the mediot who is most intellectually challenged is the same one who is most cock-sure certain what the ruling/outcome will be.

He really sounds like he'd bet his child's life on it.

edit:  Sweet goodness, listening now, he's worse than Francesa.  And does he really think it's that funny to repeatedly refer to Berman as "Big Dick"?

And now, by his own admission, Tanguay has "raised a lot of good points".

No worries here, listeners couldn't possibly have a lower opinion of Tanguay. He's rock bottom, has been for years, and has no chance of rising.

He spent time today on a later show calling Minihane and Callahan idiots.  I guess it's a mutual admiration society.

He also just said that he thinks Brady is going to settle soon because his marriage is on the rocks due to all the stress that deflategate has caused.

Citing the NYDN, of course.

You joke. There are 2 times a year that I can count on getting into a fight with my wife. The day we put to cover on the pool and the day we take it off

Kirk Minihane will no longer be hosting anything on Comcast, after he joked last night that someone should murder Goodel..or at least thats what I heard, or thought I heard this morning.  Can't find a link yet.

Joking about it this morning, D and C joked that he should also be suspended from EEI for a couple of days and that they will "C U Next Tuesday"...then yucked it up for a couple minutes and kept on saying See You Next Tuesday.  These guys are the worst.

Kirk is just giving it to CHB live right now - with Shag backtracking better than JHB.
By "giving it to him" you mean being a giant douche?

CHB was decent enough to call into the show and apologize and Kirk's response is he's lying and it's because he's afraid of him?
Does Kirk really think he's a big tough guy? He always wants to fight people.

I'm not sure what's more pathetic, if he really thinks he's some big sports radio tough guy or it's all an act. Either way it's sad.

He was kidding and said it last night on TV. Bart Hubbach edited it to cut the kidding part.

It's all pro wrestling. And Kirk is playing the role once occupied by the late Rowdy Roddy Piper. Even the "suspensions" are likely part of the script.

Too bad for him. You don't kid about murdering someone to an audience that starts off unhinged anyway. He *has* to be given time off.   (And so does Hubbuch for using a cop's murder site to make some point about football.)

It builds his brand and gets people talking.

"Boy, that Kirk Minihane pulls no punches. Glad to hear someone tell it like it is!"

Or

"Did you hear what Kirk Minihane said last night? He's a menace!"

Either way it works. Just look at Jim Rome.

Adding to the intentional angle. It's probably no coincidence that this happened on the same day that T & R tweeted, thanking fans for making (or keeping i should say) the # 1 morning show.
He, in particular, must be sensitive to that since he's the only one of this morning crew with any potential future in the biz

I agree with your general point, but Jim Rome is someone he actually should take a cue from. In the 90s, he was much more of a shock jock with his opinions and how he presented himself.  I think it was around the time he went back to ESPN to host "Rome Is Burning", but he has became much better at marketing himself without imploding. The Jim Rome of ESPN 2 was incapable of having successful runs at Fox and CBS Radio.

Minihane is currently persona non grata at Fox because of his insightful comments on Erin Andrews.  CBS and Disney are more conservative than Fox, so he's unlikely to get a shot with them anytime soon. If he were to blow his spot at Comcast, then NBC also becomes a door that closes. He's acting like his only career trajectory is to work for Entercom until he's fired and gets to host his own podcast. I can't imagine he thinks the ceiling for his career is to be a heel on a local sports radio show, but that is how he is acting.

Listened to the end of the show today and he seems to understand that he's got to diffuse this as quickly as possible because of the paucity of places he could supposedly go after. To be fair Hubboch editing out the clip right before the joke part is pretty egregious.

Yeah, but Minihane is where Rome was when Rome started with the Chris (Jim) Everett stuff*. That happened in 1994 (holy shit, that clip can legal drink.) and it went viral, or as viral as a clip could go in 1994 making Jim Rome a household name.

I think that Minihane is looking for that same moment to catapult him somewhere. And I don't think that Fox, CBS, Disney would give a shit about his past, if he could prove that Kirk Minihane: the Last Angry Man, could bring in viewers. The folly is that Minihane isn't the first guy to do this post-Rome and all of them are littered on the highway. What these people don't see is that aside from his cadence and his stupid buzzwords, Rome is talented and knows what he's doing.

* I did a Google search on Jim Everett (actually LA Rams QB Everett -- I couldn't remember if his name was Jim) and the Rome clip is the second and third things that popped up. Everett was a very good quarterback and this follows him everywhere.

The idea that KM is in the top 50 of "last angry man" prospects in America with a current local radio gig is ... not accurate, IMO. He's on the 7th (or whatever) rated morning show in his market.

And the world is a different place than it was in 1994; KM's comments about Andrews drew massive backlash because that shit just doesn't fly today. Were the Jim/Chris Evert thing to happen today, Rome would not get another 20 years to build a Radio HOF career. He'd have been fired and would hosting a morning zoo in Missoula, MT.

Great, another "everybody knows he still cheated! He only got off because the NFL bungled the investigation!"  And he'll try and tell us that the NFL will probably win the appeal, as many other law experts tell us differently.

I bet Russo hasn't read a page of the judge's decision either.
