Orioles just lost when the Pirates scored two runs on a Henderson throwing error in the B9
Watched the Pirates feed on this play, and it brought up an interesting point. Tellez goes into second standing up, forcing Henderson to alter his throwing angle in an attempt to get the double play ... which would have given the Orioles the win.
Pirates announcers said that the team is coaching their runners to do just that, go into second without sliding, as a way to disrupt the defense. In the days of yore, a throw to the noggin might end that practice, but in today's game how many middle infielders are going to do that?
The video on this page discusses it

Not exactly facing Murderers' Row so far in 2024, but Cleveland pitching shuts out the White Sox 4-0 and lowers their ERA to 2.05 through 10 games.

SD, ARI, SF all losing big currently, if those all hold, the Dodgers will already have a four game division lead.

Something fun about those White Sox: through 10 games they've scored 16 runs, on pace for 259.

That number would only make them the 12th worst of all time, but none of the 11 teams in front of them played more than 65 games.

(the fewest over 162 was also the White Sox, in 1968 when they scored 463)

Rogers Park
I wonder if whoever that poor CF is will have his character questioned for not running to retrieve that ball after the misplay.

They were also famously the Hitless Wonders when they won the World Series in 1906, scoring 570 for the year. It's not surprising that hitting 152 homers gets you into the top 10 all time for a franchise that's been around for 125 years.

I love to see Bryan Shaw still pitching in the majors… for the opposing team.

The White Sox blew a 5-run lead last night but won anyway. When they did the same again tonight they weren't so lucky.

In The Quivering Forest
KC is hammering Houston right now in the first inning.

This team is pretty dang good right now. They are 8-4, the lineup is pretty deep, they have an ace in Ragans and competent guys in Lugo and Sacha behind him.

They need some support in the pen, but this team is one to watch.

A lot of grounders, but they were also hard hit.

Witt went 4-5 with 2 HRs in that game. Currently has a 1.169 OPS. Great start to the year after signing that large contract.

I'd love Carlos Carrasco to be a feel-good story, and his current sub-4.00 ERA is... something. However, his loss of command coupled with a workload that maxes out at 90 pitches suggests he's living on borrowed time.

I'm sure at some point the Ian Hamilton experience will end with TJS as it does with so many MFY relievers. But this is really annoying right now. JAG pumped up by spin rate.

Dodgers/Padres just started after a rain delay, I’m excited for late night baseball.
