I don't have to worry about that possibility.
Yep. Shaping up to be quite the 24-48 hours for AR and GB. If there’s any justice they’ll lose in the first round to ATL or some horrible back end playoff team.I'd have to think the ball is firmly in GBs court. All he wants right now is to rebuild his value.
Saints have no QB and have been winning with smoke and mirrors. If he goes there and things crumble, he's fucked.
People can come to the Pat's and rebuild value. We've seen it before. But a rookie QB and an offense that is made for short passing and spreading the ball around isn't going to get him the stats he wants.
GB has a top 5 QB, a playoff team, and while he'd be the number 2 receiver, it also means he'll have defenses rolling away from him. It's his ideal situation. If he doesn't end up in GB it's because they didnt want him, or they fucked something up.
Pretty sure he broke Julio to the pats.Does anyone know a guy named Mo Chanel? I'm not going to post it here because I have no idea who he is but supposedly he has broken things in the past.
Looks like Bolden is a client of his agency.Do we have any kind of history with his agent? Any players already on our team use him?
I thought that in the early days of it looking like OBJ was out in Cleveland -- maybe a week ago right around the deadline and the daddy tweets - that one of our resident experts opined that OBJ would actually thrive in this offense because he is not just a deep threat (I'm looking at you, NA), but rather a guy who is more than comfortable running the sorts of crossing routes that are the bread and butter of a Josh McDaniels game plan.I'd have to think the ball is firmly in GBs court. All he wants right now is to rebuild his value.

Believe the opposite of what he posts.Does anyone know a guy named Mo Chanel? I'm not going to post it here because I have no idea who he is but supposedly he has broken things in the past.
In fairness to him, he did die 13 years before the Pats franchise was created, so it would have tough to amount to muchAnd for those who came with a negative rep who didn't amount to anything here -- Ochocinco, Albert Haynesworth, Josh Gibson, Antonio Brown -- their failure to shine in NE had no carry over to the other players on the team.
I mean, those are the breaks. Sometimes the guy signs here, sometimes he doesn’t.We’ve all been down this road before - alway fun to get excited and then the players signs elsewhere - and lots of post signing tweets about how the pats were never really in the running or interested
Jeff Howe is no longer friend. Evan Massey is now best friend.
So, we really ARE the top choice then. Great!Evan Massey is well known in nba circles as a hack, and is almost never right.

They didn't have cap space to claim him. Signing him now is a different story.Didn't someone post something on page one or two of this thread saying that the Saints weren't in the running because they didn't have the cap space? Was that a lie?
Still looks like they have less than a million under the cap, while Packers and Pats both have about $4+ million. That said, I'm constantly baffled by the creative accounting of the NFL, so maybe that doesn't stop them from offering him a one dollar salary, and twenty million dollar 'lifetime achievement award' bonus...They didn't have cap space to claim him. He went through waivers so he'll get a minimum contract prorated. I guess a second year on the deal could change things.Still looks like they have less than a million under the cap, while Packers and Pats both have about $4+ million. That would kind of make sense. Is him being from New Orleans the driver for signing there? Because catching passes from Hill / Simien doesn’t sound fun.
Pretty sure he wants to go to whatever team he has the best chance to win/reestablish his value with. He's only going there for 2 months anyway.Does a guy as flashy as OBJ really want to go from NYC to Cleveland to Wisconsin? Not that Boston is LA/NYC, but fucking Green Bay?
I dunno man, I was in Wisconsin for a few hours once and couldn’t find anything to do better than play blackjack at $5/1 deck table. I kinda figured I’d died and was in one of the early circle of Hell.Pretty sure he wants to go to whatever team he has the best chance to win/reestablish his value with. There's a lot of culture.I've read on these pages that Green Bay is sneaky good, being so close to Chicago.
Plenty of cheese, too. Just not great cheesesteaks. There's a lot of culture.
It's like a babyThere's a lot of culture.
It's not that close.I've read on these pages that Green Bay is sneaky good, being so close to Chicago.
Milwaukee, yes. Green Bay is about 3 hours from Chicago. It's a cool place if you like the Packers.I've read on these pages that Green Bay is sneaky good, being so close to Chicago.
I think it can work both ways to be honestI can’t imagine Bill let’s OBJ fuck with Mac’s development. It’s a weird year in the NFL. This team can make the playoffs and maybe got lucky, why not roll the dice?
BB has to be seeking in any deal a Haynesworth-style rip cord if it's not working out with the player.I think it can work both ways to be honest
If I'm Bill I don't sign him without a direct, voice to voice call where I make it clear if he becomes an issue he's out. Bill has shown that he's willing to pull that trigger. In that respect I feel it's low risk, maybe $1MM at stake
Anyone considering coming to the Patriots knows that.If I'm Bill I don't sign him without a direct, voice to voice call where I make it clear if he becomes an issue he's out. Bill has shown that he's willing to pull that trigger. In that respect I feel it's low risk, maybe $1MM at stake
We’ll I got the shit kicked out of me in Wisconsin once, forget it!I dunno man, I was in Wisconsin for a few hours once and couldn’t find anything to do better than play blackjack at $5/1 deck table. I kinda figured I’d died and was in one of the early circle of Hell.
Also, coming out of the NFC is going to be much rougher than the AFC this year I’d think.
I'd guess this very reason would be why BB would be extra cautious. So if he does sign OBJ, it wouldn't be one of those "on a whim" kind of things. He'd have to be very, very confident it would work out.I don't know how anyone could be confident OBJ wouldn't cause any issues with Mac when he's had two QBs in his career and developed a public rift with both. I know, if that happens they could just cut him, but I don't think it's all that simple with a rookie who's still finding himself in the league.
If they had Brady I'd jump at this in a second. Tom wouldn't tolerate any bullshit and I'd have no worries over him letting off field shit get into his head, or feel like he needs to feed Odell. The power dynamics of that relationship would also be well established. I think it's different with a young guy and I don't trust OBJ to just develop humility in a week. Bill knows all of that obviously, and if he still wants the guy I'll trust his judgement, but I don't know if his current skill level is worth it. AB right now is a much better receiver, for instance, nevermind back in 2019 when they took a shot at him.I'd guess this very reason would be why BB would be extra cautious. So if he does sign OBJ, it wouldn't be one of those "on a whim" kind of things. He'd have to be very, very confident it would work out.
I don't think anybody is expressing that kind of confidence. Its really just a risk-reward question.I don't know how anyone could be confident OBJ wouldn't cause any issues with Mac when he's had two QBs in his career and developed a public rift with both. I know, if that happens they could just cut him, but I don't think it's all that simple with a rookie who's still finding himself in the league.
