It's the Lonzo Ball effect.Wow. That has to be some type of record.
The Nets managed to put together a competitive team last year and got the 6th seed despite the previous management throwing away three high lottery picks. That sort of thing is far different than what Knicks did, which is cultivate a terrible relationship with the best player they've drafted in 30 years, followed by trading him for air. It's only the Knicks though right? It worked for the Nets.
Toronto won 59 games without Kawhi the year before. That was without Marc Gasol, or the Siakam breakout. They may yet retain Danny Green. They're fine.Kawhi hasn't left yet, but that would drop Toronto to a six or seven seed.
With DeRozan also.Toronto won 59 games without Kawhi the year before. That was without Marc Gasol, or the Siakam breakout. They may yet retain Danny Green. They're fine.
All I can say is that the Sixers must have really hated Butler because Harris is definitely not the guy I would have kept of those twohttps://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1145469498234982401
5/180 for Tobias Harris
Right, so they should be better than fine now. With DeRozan also.
They'll be good, but Siakam will be the focus of opponent's defenses now. I like watching him play, so it'll be interesting to see how that works out.Toronto won 59 games without Kawhi the year before. That was without Marc Gasol, or the Siakam breakout. They may yet retain Danny Green. They're fine.
Cap space has dried up VERY quickly around the league. The only teams who have $20M+ left: Clippers, Knicks, Lakers and Mavericks. Couple others could get close, but those are the only 4 teams there at the moment.
knicks just getting a bunch of guys to trade to playoff teams down the line. The Knicks have made significant progress toward an agreement with veteran Taj Gibson, per SNY sources.

2 years, $20 million per Woj.
Love it. Board man is not concerned over being the first guy to make a decision for others to react to. He's like "I'll see where the chips land and make my decision last wherever the best fit is."Kawhi Leonard will not take any meetings with teams today, as he'll ramp up the process over next couple days, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

The deal will include Josh Richardson to the 76ers, league sources tell ESPN.Jimmy Butler to Miami via S&T

And Al to Philly. That feels like Kawhi to LAL.
Yeah, I'm sorry - but teaming up 3 of the top 5 guys in the league simply isn't an enjoyable product. Sour grapes and all that, but it's boring.Like Adam Silver. The NBA was really close to 4 years of parity and interesting title contenders.
I mean, until earlier today we thought Horford was gone anyway.Bad few hours for the Celtics. Horford to Philly and Kawhi probably to the Lakers.
Horford and Embiid is an insane frontcourt. Think of how good the Horford/Millsap frontcourt was and Embiid is obviously better than Millsap.I mean, until earlier today we thought Horford was gone anyway.
Is Philly better with Horford/Richardson over Reddick/Butler?
Yeah it is. But they lost a lot of talent too.Horford and Embiid is an insane frontcourt. Think of how good the Horford/Millsap frontcourt was and Embiid is obviously better than Millsap.
Really the actual top 3 with KD out.Yeah, I'm sorry - but teaming up 3 of the top 5 guys in the league simply isn't an enjoyable product. Sour grapes and all that, but it's boring.
Kawhi Leonard still possible. So the Clippers are getting shut out?
I wonder if he'll go there without a friend, and he's pretty much out of friends.Kawhi Leonard still possible.
Always a bridesmaid...So the Clippers are getting shut out?
Yes considerably so. Last year they lacked another big, playing Harris at 4 when he's better as a 3. Horford is the perfect piece of them, he can defend bigs or wings, shoot and distribute. Richardson brings a lot of the 3pt shooting Reddick did but instead of a major liability on defense, he's a terrific wing defender.I mean, until earlier today we thought Horford was gone anyway.
Is Philly better with Horford/Richardson over Reddick/Butler?
There's always Gordon Hayward.I wonder if he'll go there without a friend, and he's pretty much out of friends.
Thybulle and Zhaire Smith are basically both rookies, but they are two of the best defensive prospects at guard to come along over the past couple of years. That Sixer team could use some quickness and another good defensive guard, but it's a pretty powerful team on paper....they probably need another floor-spacer on the bench, but you can sign those.
They are certainly going to be interesting, wonder if those pieces actually all fit.
