Tremont has shown a lot more then Carsen, and the team probably shouldn't keep 3 players under 6'Have to imagine Edwards is gone after the season too.
is there a SoSH complaint dept. for dunking on myself?Dumb predictions? entering my wheelhouse
1. Carson Edwards finishes top 3 in ROY
Yeah, people make fun of Danny’s obsession with wings, but you never end up having to cut wings because of roster fit.Tremont has shown a lot more then Carsen, and the team probably shouldn't keep 3 players under 6'
well the below didn't age well

The judges would have also accepted "long".the roster crunch and # of prospects/projects are making his Celtic odds skinny for 2021
teams are already playing 5 wings at once....hate to draft for "position" but you can't have enough wings.Yeah, people make fun of Danny’s obsession with wings, but you never end up having to cut wings because of roster fit.
Wouldn't be shocked if Waters was either. I'm not expecting that to happen but they'll have to do something with some of their picks.Tremont has shown a lot more then Carsen, and the team probably shouldn't keep 3 players under 6'

The back end of the roster & two-ways will be cycled.Wouldn't be shocked if Waters was either. I'm not expecting that to happen but they'll have to do something with some of their picks.
#51 picks and udfa's like Waters, Green and Fall are perfect for the back end of the roster. Give them a year and see if they progress, if not cycle them out and draft/pickup a few more. If they pan out, well that's a good problem to have. The back end of the roster & two-ways will be cycled.
I'm expecting a busy trade season this summer with a lot of disappointed/desperate teams. Danny in good position to exploit it
Pretty much. Need cheap players to fill out the back end of the roster that can soak up regular-season minutes in case of injuries. Like that they use young, hungry players that know playing ++ defense will be the only way they earn minutes. Smart way to build culture.#51 picks and udfa's like Waters, Green and Fall are perfect for the back end of the roster. Yeah. This. Poirier has gotten better over the last month, but that's not saying much. Edwards hasn't shown a lot either.I'd keep Fall/Waters and move VP/Edwards in a bigger trade
Edwards isn't going anywhere. He signed a 4 year deal with $4.5M in guaranteed salary: https://www.boston.com/sports/boston-celtics/2019/07/12/carsen-edwards-agrees-to-four-year-deal-with-celtics. He's here for next year and likely for all four years.Have to imagine Edwards is gone after the season too.
I am unsure if you can ever call the 3rd pick in the 2nd round a missEdwards, unfortunately, may turn out to be a miss for the C's.
True, but his summer-league performance (and Purdue career) gave us reason to think he might be a lights-out 3-point shooter, if nothing else. He's been a terrible shooter for the C's (and even the Red Claws).I am unsure if you can ever call the 3rd pick in the 2nd round a miss
I'm quite sure he does. Not sure how well he fits with a "switch everything" defense. However, I bet he'd be pretty effective in a zone, which is something that the Celts could experiment with more.Maybe, perhaps, mayhaps Tacko might have some sort of future in the NBA.
Love watching these guys essentially try to tackle him and he still powers up through them to score. He's a strong guy and gets up and down the floor pretty well. The Gleague home page has a video of Tacko's recent game with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 blocks. It is worth watching.
Many of his blocks are to his teammates. He doesn't just swat it into the 5th row of fans.
Next, the other team's strategy against Tacko was to immediately foul him when he got the ball down low. Time and time again he put the ball up while being fouled and scored the basket. He has also become relatively more mobile on offense it seems.
Maybe, perhaps, mayhaps Tacko might have some sort of future in the NBA.
Thanks. He was sitting on the bench in Indiana last night
I doubt he's tanking BUT maybe Waters is less than motivated being a Celtic.Thanks.
Waters is struggling for Maine again today.
Or his early season success was vastly overrated and he's just not that good. At no point in this season was he ever actually "dominating" the G league. He is one of the better players in the G League but he's a fringe NBA talent so that's not a shock. Edwards is also guaranteed money so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept Edwards over Waters for that sole reason. Keeping both doesn't make much sense, but with roster sizes at 17, you can get away with things that make no sense.I doubt he's tanking BUT maybe Waters is less than motivated being a Celtic.
He'd be better off getting released this summer since his path to a spot on this roster will be even more challenging next season
I'm not sure anyone would/should be shocked. Better options could crop up via the draft, trades or FA.With the G league and 17 man rosters, players are getting longer than ever to prove something so I wouldn't be shocked if both Edwards and Waters turn into ok players a few years down the line but I doubt they offer much value in a C's uniform. I'd just get rid of both (shocking I know.)
I'm a firm believer in using all your draft picks every year, keep what sticks and repeat the process. With 17 man rosters, there should always be like 5-6 "development" guys imo. Going anymore than 9-10 deep causes the 2018/19 Celtics so 5-6 development guys, 8-9 rotation players, and the rest of the roster with cheap vets/euros. There's no reason to keep players around who showed nothing.
I meant me in particular being ok with getting rid of both. I think people know where I stand in regards to 2nd round picks/undrafted players until they actually prove something. I'm confident enough in Ainge and Co to keep the correct players even if I'm not high on them/they haven't showed anything. I'm fairly sure Edwards isn't going to be the next Duncan Robinson but the C's have way more information to go on than I do and know whether he's worth keeping or not. Unless I'm missing someone, they haven't really gotten rid of anyone that's come back to bite them in the ass since like Joe Johnson.I'm not sure anyone would/should be shocked. Better options could crop up via the draft, trades or FA.
The Celtic 2020 summer roster crunch is real and Danny won't have a problem cycling through 2nd round/end of the roster players.
Carsen, Tre, Tacko, VP, Romeo, Grant, Green were 2019-20 development players. Popcorn in a pan. Several will not be back in 2020-21, no one will be surprised. I'm sure we'll have some more Max Struss-types to argue about next summer.
He was player of the month in November and player of the week in January. Not sure what your definition of dominating is, but he's had a very good season up until late. Maybe he's just hit a wall, maybe he's hurt. Might be a little to soon to throw him under the bus.Or his early season success was vastly overrated and he's just not that good. I literally said he's one of the better players in the G league. Of course, Josh Jackson and Vincent Poirier are too. Not sure I'm really throwing him under the bus by saying he's not that good. He was a late 2nd round pick and he's on a 2 way contract. One of the better outcomes for him is below average NBA player. He was player of the month in November and player of the week in January.
