I almost caused a multi car pileup during Adolfo's Bohemian Rhapsody. "Papa Gino's Pizza Rolls" was the point at which other drivers were in danger.

According to T&R's facebook, "Ask a Pink Hat" returns tomorrow at 8am.

Another reason to cheer the return of baseball season (aside from the glittering on-field performance).

Ask a pink hat was amusing. I particularly liked the reliever bit: "Oh! I got one right!"

However, Fred should refrain from ever speaking on Daisuke again. Also, the words "I agree with Bobby Valentine", and, regardless of the circumstances, even when dealing with Japanese Pitchers, the phrase "I would take Bobby V over Terry Francona" should never, ever, EVER be stated. Well, I suppose, if the circumstances were "I want to get a better draft pick via more games lost". Does he honestly believe that Bobby V *never* had a pitcher injury, and that Japanese pitchers don't get injured?

Wow, she was some kind of special.
Ask a pink hat matching game would be fun; you get pictures of 10 girls and have to match them to 5 "ask a pink hat" clips based on how the girl/woman sounded. Make it a facebook app or something...

The Drunken Recap didn't disappoint either. The Mario stuff was cracking me up for some reason.

Just when I think I'm too old and *mature* to enjoy a boob reference, ol' Mario made his way onto my radio stream.

"I like boobs."

Well, who doesn't indeed.

By the way, Rich posted the following pic on their FB account earlier in the evening. This was the "crowd" at 8 pm, the advertised start time for the show at Agganis:

What an amazing get for them. This sure won't hurt their national reputation.

Imagine D&C working this hard to get any interview?

I was about to post the same thing...

These two guys work hard, and I mean really hard. What other radio hosts in this market would stay up in the wee hours of the morning to conduct an interview, no matter who the subject is?

I mean, D&C complain about staying up late to watch Red Sox playoff games. It's like night and freaking day between these two shows.

I missed all this and just tuned into to hear Sheen's voice. Unreal. Will have to listen to the podcast later. Rich is awesome and definitely works his ass off, he was live tweeting the whole show last night and somehow managed to pull this off.

It's great. To contrast over on Matty he was busting on his staff for leaving the show early to get a beer and then told people to go listen to T&R.

Here's a summary of his Sox- and baseball-centric comments on the airwaves:

When he entered the studio, Sheen saw the Red Sox-Rays rebroadcast on TV and was informed that the Red Sox had the worst record in baseball. "Oh, that will change," he replied.

On the sports front, the 45-year-old Sheen talked about his plans to star in "Major League 3."

"We're definitely doing that, it's just a question of when." Sheen said. "The script's fabulous. It's excellent. It's really good... Pretty much everybody [is coming back from the original cast of "Major League"] except sadly James Gammon (who played manager Lou Brown), who's no longer with us."

Sheen also went live on the air with former New York Mets star Lenny Dykstra, whose memorable ballclub came from behind, two games to none, and beat the Red Sox in seven games to win the 1986 World Series. The former Mets catalyst talked about hitting Oil Can Boyd's third pitch of Game 3 of the '86 Series into the right field seats at Fenway Park.

"Actually, it was the first time in my career I tried to hit a home run," Dykstra said. "And I did... I tried to do something to shut the crowd down so I turned on a piece of cheese from Oil Can Boyd.... those were good times."

Sheen also had Shaq's number in his contact list, but did not make a call to the sitting Celtics center.

Later during the on-air Q&A, one caller wanted to know what Sheen would say to the Red Sox and their fans about the team's bad start.

"I'd tell everybody to shut up, that they'll bounce back," Sheen said. "It's a long season and there's a ton of talent there and a really bitchin' hitter's park they play in. Relax."

Why is this podcast not up? They have up hours 1 and 4.

I'd love to hear the rest of it that I missed. Not a bad deal for T&R, getting a lot of national press.

They didn't have hour 4 up yesterday I'm really hoping there isn't some legal issue with posting the podcast.

Chad Finn gives Rich some mad props on hustling for the Sheen get.

When Sheen began taking questions from the audience 10 minutes into the show, Shertenlieb saw his opportunity. Unfolding his sign asking Sheen to come on the program, he was handed the microphone and introduced himself. The crowd reacted with a rousing ovation, which Shertenlieb believes is what convinced Sheen that the offer was legitimate.

Following the show, Shertenlieb was invited backstage — “past a bunch of strippers and fat dudes in bowling shirts’’ — and worked out the logistics. Sheen’s people said he would arrive at the studio in an hour. He was there in an hour and a half.

“He’s kind of erratic, obviously, and has a reputation for doing some strange crap on this tour, so I thought just maybe he would do it,’’ Shertenlieb said. “And by the end, it was almost like he wanted to give us something that people would talk about, this quest to make news.’’

Sheen called several famous numbers on his cell phone, including his brother Emilio Estevez, who didn’t answer, and former Met Lenny Dykstra, who did, albeit semi-coherently.

“That was surreal,’’ said Shertenleib, “because to me it’s the first time in a while where he hasn’t been Captain Catchphrase or trying to sell T-shirts, but just a dude talking. That Charlie Sheen is the Charlie Sheen people originally liked.

“You forget that he’s more than just a few catchphrases. He’s an unbelievably honest dude who has the lifestyle of a maniac at times and is unapologetic about it. It’s completely fascinating.

“And other than that he smoked, I think, an entire pack of cigarettes, he was completely lucid.’’

Rich is on fire this morning. Between the highlight clips coming back from break set to "Ace of Spades" to the GET UP montage, everything is hitting perfectly. Even the Jack Edwards alarm clock had me laughing. He's really talented.

And now it's Gruden time!

From Rich's Twitter:

THANKS for making T&R #1 in ALL male demos in March. JanFebMarch- had 35% more Men 18-49 & a WHOPPING 8X more Men18-34 listeners than WEEI.
Not surprising in the least. As a recent convert to their show, I listen through the radio.com app every morning and download the podcast when I miss anything. It's so much more enjoyable than anything else in the morning and anything in sports radio period, IMO.

Congrats to those guys they've worked hard for their success and they deserve everything they get.

That was Rich poking WEEI's nest b/c Dennis was on this morning calling them liars about misrepresenting the ratings, so Toucher and Rich went through every rating, including ones they lost in, to put all the info out there. I'm guessing putting it on twitter was to tweak them even more.

One demo they lost was Jan-March males 25-54, which shows that WEEI still grabs the older crowd. They dominated the younger 18-35 as listed above.

I don't know what John Dennis is saying about T&R with regard to them "lying" about the ratings, but I loved it when Fred said T&R's audience dropped by a third when they were on vacation and D&C's didn't change when Dennis was on vacation, so why pay the guy when fill in hosts get the same ratings that he does.

This like old school Stern when he'd invade new markets and rip that city's most popular hosts. I love it.

Thanks to ALL of you D&C are again #1 with men age 25-54, 35-44, 35-49, 35-54. That's called a sweep going back 7 rating books & 21 months.

That's the truth according to the official Arbitron BOSTON ratings books. It's losers who HAVE to lie to you.

Sounds like they're all talking about different demos. T+R specifically called out 18-35 and overall (I think), whereas D+C are putting out the older demos.

I'm betting neither side is lying, they're just picking different categories. However, only one side is calling the other liars...
