You can poke a bear long enough, eventually it'll be the final time.
This is how ESPN plays though. They did this same shit during the Penn State/Paterno saga.
This is new to me. Can you explain or link?drleather2001 said:
Coughlin deliberately left too many guys on the field to game the clock. They changed the rule after the season, IIRC.
Of course, he looks like someone's grandfather in the nursing home, so that's all cool.
OT, but the fun flip side of that: the refs themselves TOLD the Ravens what was coming back in January, and still there was nothing they could do about it even tho they knew what to expect.rodderick said:
I love the bit about the Eagles being perplexed at Brady carving their newly unveiled dime scheme they had never used before. Wow, so inventive! I'm sure Brady had never even seen a dime formation before, how could he possibly know where to go with the ball if he weren't cheating?
What makes you think they have any perspective at all? I bet that anything that deflects away from Goodell's shellacking in court last week and puts the Patriots back in the frying pan as the cheaters they is ok by them.loshjott said:I can't imagine Rog and the suits at headquarters are happy about this. This was approved by the NFL. Other wise ESPN would not have released it.loshjott said:I can't imagine Rog and the suits at headquarters are happy about this. It makes Goodell look like a buffoon and I really believe they all want the focus on the field now with the regular season upon us.
It's hard to imagine after being a mouthpiece for so long that the Disney corporation just said, "ah fuck it, let's alienate our cash cow for some extra viewers for a day or two."loshjott said:I can't imagine Rog and the suits at headquarters are happy about this. Right. It makes Roger's hard-line attitude seem justifiable in hindsight.
"Oh, well, somebody needed to teach those Patriots a lesson! His heart was in the right place!"
Why not ? Think about it. ESPN really just went HAM on the pats. To be honest is there any incentive whatsoever to let them in the building? This isn't going against the league. It's fighting fire with fire. The giant microphone and unsubstantiated allegations can go both ways.H78 said:I really hope the Patriots release a lengthy statement detailing how recording signals was, and still is, legal. They were busted for doing it in the wrong place.
Then I hope they release a second statement detailing all of the other illegal practices done by other teams and just throw the whole freakin' league under the bus and expose how petty and sore they all are.

That blurb is damning to Goodell also. It's like the cabal of jealous owners is trying to force him out for screwing up the investigations against the cheating cheater Patriots.

We’ll be posting plenty of stories coming from the lengthy ESPN report that delves into the roots of Spygate and other allegations of Patriots cheating. For now, though, it’s important to present something that initially wasn’t fully presented in the ESPN story.
We’ll be linking to the team’s response in any of the various stories that flow from the new ESPN report. And there likely will be plenty of stories.

Perhaps I'm unnecessarily jumping on Florio, but lets remember that it's unlikely the Colts ever thought deflategate would get as much run/get the punishment it do . So the OTL crew decided to troll through a litany of spurned players, executives, and coaches re Spygate in an effort to force RG to make up for his original sin in their minds. If I were Kraft I'd literally call a presser and sit down line by line with the report.Expose it for the bitter kicking rocks it is.
The OTL Segment only puts the first sentence and the last paragraph of the Pat's statement.. Until I saw the whole statement, I had no idea the patriots mentioned Tomase and ESPN. Just wow they would omit half of the statement. Did Pash edit the OTL Report as well?soxhop411 said:

-Taping practices - no evidence but we all know it happened
-Taping signals - Admitted, not illegal before 2006. After 2006 they were dopes for taping from the sideline.

-stealing play sheets - no evidence but we all know it happened
-Breaking into hotels / looking for things at the hotel - no evidence but we all know it happened
-Jamming radios - no evidence but we all know it happened
-Deflating balls - I think we've been over this one.
-Practicing with guys on IR - no evidence but we all know it happened
Am I missing anything?
To be fair, they do say that some of these were confirmed by former Pats coaches/employees(Dean Pees/Dom Capers?).NortheasternPJ said:So the Patriots win because:

Wasnt there some backlash when they brought Josh back for the playoff run, after the Rams let him go?NortheasternPJ said:So the Patriots win because:

And the positioning of the Pats' bench allows them to review plays on the EnormoTron, while the positioning of the visitors bench doesnt allow such a clear line-of-sight?
