Fixed it again for you.I thought the recent handling of V&N was a low moment for SoSH. But that was just a hang nail compared to the updating of this thread title, which is literally like ebola.
I'm not even reading this thread really, I was just helping out because people asked. Anyway, I switched it again, hope everyone is happy now.Our fears are confirmed. Jon Abbey hates fun.

This kind of shit should be required reading for anyone who tries to tell anyone else a joke did not go flying over their head.Wow I had to look this up to see it. Great job brain!
Interesting. I wasn't sure if it would work here, since everyone in this thread is on guard at the moment. The brain is so weird.Wow I had to look this up to see it. Great job brain!
Right but there’s like a 1888418384859392% chance you didn’t read all those numbers. As soon as I saw it I couldn’t believe I didn’t see it. Bizarre.
NFL to Jerry Jones: STFU!Four days after seemingly defying the NFL and letting the world know about his team’s zero-tolerance policy regarding standing for the national anthem, Jones is now not talking about the issue because he has been told not to by the league.
Jones informed several local television stations who had booked him for interviews on their Sunday night show from training camp in Oxnard, Calif., that questions about the national anthem and his team’s policy were not permitted because the NFL had told him to stop speaking on the matter.
If it bothers you that much, just don't include the song, man. This league.... the dumpster fire that can't help but pour gasoline all over itself. Here’s how the lyric is supposed to go, from the Big Sean verse in "Big Bank" from YG: “You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick.”
This wasn’t unique to this person’s copy of the game. It’s been verified by a number of other publications with early access, including Waypoint. The bleeping of Kaepernick’s name is loud and clear.
Haha that’s incredibly weak.EA saying that they don't have the right to use Kaepernick in the game (I guess because he is not in the league) members of the EA team mistakenly thought they couldn't use his name in the song, either. Might be B.S., but sounds somewhat legit to me. The apology at least sounds sincere.
I'm with dbn in that it sounds like it could be legit. I'm guessing these companies err on the side of caution, especially today.Haha that’s incredibly weak.
Sounds like people preemptively self-policing our of a vague and mindless fear of law.I'm with dbn in that it sounds like it could be legit. I'm guessing these companies err on the side of caution, especially today.
ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro announced Friday that the network will not air the national anthem during Monday Night Football.
There may be exceptions as the season rolls along, but otherwise the network will not show that preseason portion of the game, as has been the standard years past.
What I never understand is why they announce stuff like this. Just do it. It's unlikely ESPN is trying to make some sort of statement such that an announcement gets the cause some attention.Sticking to sports...

Statues that were intentionally put up well after the fact in a self-conscious attempt to alter our perception of history, in fact. Many writings reminds me of top men.
And I love how we have to preserve the constitution by maintaining statutes to traitors. Makes sense.
Because MLB played through WW1 and they wanted to make sure people understood they were still patriotic even though they were playing games while a war went on.Can someone remind me why sporting events have national anthems to begin with?
The "our identity as a nation" phrase should tell you exactly what this person has in mind.Lololhahahahaaahahaaaaaa...no.

There’s a powerful person with an active Twitter account and an interest in ensuring no change flies under the radar. Alao, Disney/ABC/ESPN would certainly (and rightly) insist on public clarity that this was in no way their editorial decision. What I never understand is why they announce stuff like this. Just do it. So this was going to be a problem for the league at some point regardless, and they decided to get out in front of it. It’s not a terrible idea — far fewer people are paying attention to football now than will be paying attention after Labor Day. Perhaps it will be a much smaller story Week 1 than it otherwise would be.
I’m just glad to see the league taking a proactive PR stance, whether it works out in this instance or not. This is not the part of his job that Goodell is good at; perhaps a different approach means someone else is calling the shots.
Not to derail this but he has a lot of very thoughtful takes... (also I am a proud Beto supporter/small-donor living in DFW). So happy right now. Beto O’Rourke with a very thoughtful take.
Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that some NFLPA Executive Committee members will meet with select owners at the Giants’ facility. The league’s anthem policy is on the agenda.
Chargers offensive tackle Russell Okung wrote on Twitter that he will be at the meeting, and plans to show owners video of Texas senate candidate Beto O’Rourke explaining why he believes there is nothing disrespectful about kneeling during the national anthem.
Ditto - thanks Marciano, that's a great clip. Kind of feels the way I image Bobby Kennedy must have in the late 60s.Not to derail this but he has a lot of very thoughtful takes...
