Kos v. Daley: Exactly the expected outcome. The only thing I can say, at least for the actual fight itself, is I don't know why Koscheck didn't try harder to finish. He knew he had the extreme advantage. I am going to guess he just wanted to impose his will, show his dominance and walk away cleanly. However, he looked like an absolute bitch for the second fight in a row. The only thing I wonder is how he got scratched on the bridge of his nose? I kept trying to see how it could have happened, and maybe it happened before the illegal knee that wasn't, but I don't know. He isn't going to beat GSP, everything he is good at, GSP is better - GSP is a much better striker. He'll be great on TUF, everyone is going to hate the eve rloving fuck out of him, should be entertaining. As for Daley, I was 100% in his corner before the fight, I wanted him to win badly. I always fall in love with strikers like him, dynamic, explosive, powerful, but its always the same thing, their grappling tends to be terrible. I didn't expect him to be able to stuff Koscheck's TDs, but I was hoping like hell he'd offer him something. It just proves the point, like Rogan states ALL the time, wrestling is absolutely the best base for MMA. I hope he gets taken to the woodshed for that punch, while it was on PPV, unlike the SF debacle, that shit does not need to be happening. The sport is growing by leaps and bounds right now and that shit is completely unnecessary, even if I did kinda want it to happen.
Machida v. Shogun: Not much to say here. Shogun did what, when healthy, Shogun does. Destroy people. Instead of trying to be more patient and not run into Machida, like everyone claims you shouldn't do, he was aggressive and crisp. Machida looking for those TDs was a big clue. He didn't want to stand toe to toe with Shogun, he got beat up in the first fight and he got beat down tonight. Shogun put the exclamation point on it. It was also pretty interesting to see him get up and stop punching Machida, Lyoto was clearly out, but the ref hadn't intervened yet. Its something that gets questioned a lot, unnecessary punches when a guy is out/late stoppages. Shogun is a classy, humble guy, I hope he holds onto the belt for a while. Shogun holding the belt presents A LOT of interesting opportunities. Rampage, Rashad, Jon Jones, A. Silva, Lil Nog are all in the hunt for that belt. I love the LHW division.
