NYY adding Gallo and Rizzo changes that somewhat.Career 577 OPS against RHB. Other than Tampa the playoff competition is very RHH heavy.
Wait, you're defending Workman now? Haven't you been demanding his release in the game threads for weeks? He's got an ERA+ of 86.
Workman was at 95 when he was DFA'd. As is, Hansel's season slots in between Matt Andriese at 78 and Austin Brice at 72.
Yes, that's why this season has been so terrible. Why can't it be like it was last year? We've already gotten that guy a few times over this year.
Yeah, you may not be aware but people were hoping for a quality reliever, not one of the worst relievers over the last two months. I'm not with the group that demands action, but I'd rather have had inaction when it comes to the bullpen if it meant giving up Scherff for Robles.15 minutes ago:
"Why the hell hasn't Bloom traded for anyone else? It's a total failure to stand pat with this pitching staff! He absolutely should have traded for a pitcher, a reliever at the very least!"
Now:
"Why the hell did Bloom trade for Robles?? That guy sucks, we never should have traded for him!"
84 if you include the ten games Workman pitched for the Cubs in April. He's got an ERA+ of 86.
Workman was at 95 when he was DFA'd.
NYCSox said playoff competition.NYY adding Gallo and Rizzo changes that somewhat.
Brings them to a full -1 WAR in pitchers acquired today. In Bloom we trust indeed.
It's okay to be frustrated when the food you ordered is very late, and then to be frustrated again once it arrives when it's the wrong order and not something you like.15 minutes ago:

LOL. Even with those two they are still RHH anyway.NYCSox said playoff competition.
You may not be aware, but it's not logically consistent to bash the guy for not making a trade but then also bash him for making a trade.Yeah, you may not be aware but people were hoping for a quality reliever, not one of the worst relievers over the last two months.
And such small portions! It's okay to be frustrated when the food you ordered is very late, and then to be frustrated again once it arrives when it's the wrong order and not something you like.
Bloom seems more interested in collecting breadcrumbs like Grant Gambrell, Frank German, and Connor Wong.I'm waiting for the late breaking news that they acquired Brusdar Graterol from the Dodgers so we could have Hansel and Graterol.
I think that's exactly what happened.Or they were gung-ho about Scherzer, but not so much anyone else. That's not unreasonable.
I don’t think so.Davis is a weird addition. Feels like a response to the NYY adds
Agreed. Chavis is currently diving into a plane to get to Pittsburgh.I don’t think so.
I think it was time to ship Chavis out, for, well, anything.
Could be both. Davis has been good against LHB this year: .105 AVG an .555 OPSI don’t think so.
I think it was time to ship Chavis out, for, well, anything.
Best news of the day. I'm opening the champagne. (yes, I'll cross myself before every sip.....)
They did not have the assets to make the kinds of deals you wanted, in the context of this market . Schwarber was a borderline steal, and relievers are mostly unpredictable, so taking a flyer on a couple of low cost guys is a worthwhile depth move. But we get it, you don't like Bloom.Brings them to a full -1 WAR in pitchers acquired today. In Bloom we trust indeed.
I thought I was mocking his shitty performance and white flag usage. Demanding? Well, my goodness. Whose ear do I have!?!Wait, you're defending Workman now? Haven't you been demanding his release in the game threads for weeks?
You may not be aware, but people aren't pining for Bloom to bring in just ANYONE on an MLB roster. You may not be aware, but it's not logically consistent to bash the guy for not making a trade but then also bash him for making a trade.
Sorry you don't like the guy he brought in, but he brought in a guy, and the complaint 20 minutes ago was that he didn't bring in a guy.
Good enough to displace Darwinzon?Could be both. Davis has been good against LHB this year: .105 AVG an .555 OPS
HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A TEAM IN A BIG MARKET!They did not have the assets to make the kinds of deals you wanted, in the context of this market . Schwarber was a borderline steal, and relievers are mostly unpredictable, so taking a flyer on a couple of low cost guys is a worthwhile depth move. But we get it, you don't like Bloom.
Or even Arroyo. Does anyone know when he should be back? Do the Sox consider his split injury to be a fluke...will he be playing 1B again?Everything is fine if Schwarber can play first.
I'm guessing insurance /depth more than replacing.Good enough to displace Darwinzon?
Because you are smarter than the quality of our evaluation team.Bloom seems more interested in collecting breadcrumbs like Grant Gambrell, Frank German, and Connor Wong.
They're going to have to option someone to make room for Davis and Robles. Gotta figure it's Darwinzon or Valdez.Good enough to displace Darwinzon?
Yeah, I think he's bound for Worcester.I'm guessing insurance /depth more than replacing.
He’s made a number of astute trades that have helped to rebuild the minor league system, and they brought one of the Sox’ best major leaguers to the club, as well as a significant contributor to the rotation. Can I ask those of you in the camp of "In Chaim we Trust", why you trust him? I'm not saying I don't trust him, but I just don't see what he's brought us yet.
Send him my condolences.Yeah, I think he's bound for Worcester.
Or Casas comes up and can be mediocre. Irregardless of their current record, having the worst first base production in baseball seems like a bad plan going forward, assuming their plan aligns with ours.Everything is fine if Schwarber can play first.
He’s not skipping AAA.Or Casas comes up and can be mediocre. Irregardless of their current record, having the worst first base production in baseball seems like a bad plan going forward, assuming their plan aligns with ours.
At least he can get a smiley face hat.Send him my condolences.
Yeah, I miss that guy. And all the other crappy guys the Sox threw up against the wall last year, hoping someone would stick. Was Robert Stock not available?
I saw a tweet last night where a source close to him said he was not exercising his option. Although that is a different question I suppose.Any chance they extend Schwarber or does he walk?
