No wrap or cast on Kline?

I thought he had a shoulder injury, so I don't take much comfort from Giardi's observation.

Again, I think this says more about his availability for next week's Titans game than this week, but either way that's great to hear.

Hope Hightower makes it back -- having him would be a big help against the good RBs on that roster.

Blue and Polk are averaging about 3.5 yards a carry. Grimes is a bit better, but rarely gets more than 6 carries a week. If we can do a good job on Hopkins (easier said than done), the RBs don't worry me that much.

I just saw this posted on FB from Schefter:
400 tablets of "ibuprofen" must be a wonderful thing.

But seriously, I don't get how football players do this. If I broke my hand I'd be sitting on the floor crying, nevermind using it to punch a co-worker. These guys are amazing.

I also don't believe JJ "Log Cabin" Watt's hand is actually broken, but that's my cynical cross to bear. (Dont get me wrong, he's an MVP candidate. but he seems to buy into the deification a bit too much for my taste. YMMV).

If he's in a cast, I can basically guarantee you that he has a broken bone in his hand, no matter how insignificant it is. We don't just put people's hands in casts to make them look tougher.

I bet he hit his hand on someone's helmet and he has a nondisplaced fracture of one of his carpal bones or a metacarpal - I doubt it will slow him down much, if at all, on Sunday

Someone never faked using crutches after a game for a sympathy bang in high school.

Forgive me for repeating myself but is anyone else having Dustin Pedroia flashbacks? DRS, what are we to make of this?

my sense is that pedroia did it on his own, and no one told him no. I think BB would castrate Edelman if he didn't get affirmative medical approval before being out there at all.

I obviously give the team and doctors the benefit of the doubt, but it is hard not to think back to Gronk in 2012 with his broken forearm. Different players, different injuries, different circumstances, but the team hasn't been infallible when it comes to these types of things.

In what sense? They held Gronk out until a tune up game for the playoffs then got a shit break when he fell directly on his forearm. Holding him out from the playoffs would have been sort of crazy.

They have to be going slow, excercising caution. A few weeks of limited participation/conditioning. My guess is last game against Miami at the earliest. But seeing him out there in any capacity is nothing but good.

Wow, this is something else.

Patience. I love that teams will now have to gameplan for these guys despite having no idea if they will play.

Yeah, I could completely see BB getting them out there for the photo op no matter what just to screw with everyone.

Actually he played against Miami in week 17 before the bye, then played in the Houston game where he re-injured it. Hard to say whether or not that played a factor but it can't have helped.

should've could've worn a hard cast / brace for the houston game or just been more careful not to fall on it.

Yeah, that's the tune up game for the playoffs I was talking about. Still not sure what else they could have done short of benching him for the playoffs. IIRC they basically played him at half speed that game. I dont think playing him in Miami mattered much given the injury, risk of rebreak was going to be elevated but didnt make a lot of sense not to play him in a playoff game.

Its pretty much exactly what I expect them to do with Edelman if this heals as expected.

I hear what you are saying. The point is that could him not playing that week, not practicing, not putting any more stress on it and taking more time to rest have helped his forearm heal more? I have no idea, I am not a doctor, etc. Just would hate to see something similar happen with Edelman.

Edit: to be clear I am talking about the tune-up game, not the playoff game. I agree you can't sit him out

“@Trags: A surreal moment when a step stool fell on Edelman’s repaired left foot. ”Well, there goes my foot“. He didn’t flinch or miss a beat”

Can you give us the diagnosis on the injures?
(Mccourty, Easley, Freeny, Blount). I think that's everyone.
@DaveRoberts'Shoes
McCourty has a bad ankle sprain - back for Miami or the playoffs

Easley dinged up his knee, back for the Jets

Freeney broke something, back for the divisional round at the earliest

Blount has a hip pointer, back for Miami.

Someone track this and see how I do

I think they were saying the Easley issue was in his thigh/quad. But whoever said that probably didn't go to med school in Grenada so what do they know.

If you were standing in my living room, I would hug you right now for delivering that kind of news. Honestly, at this point it just feels like juggling inactives, so any time guys aren't done for the year, I'm excited.
