It's just as much due to the increase in ticket face values.WayBackVazquez said:
Really? CFB attendance is down, it's probably largely due to the increased length of games.
The problem with taking the safety is that then a field goal wins the game for A&M. Those two points are pretty big.Dollar said:Belichick would take the safety here. I think I would too.
I like 3 point lead because it causes other team to be conservative inside the 25.Dollar said:Belichick would take the safety here. I think I would too.
True, but you'd have to think Auburn would start with the ball at maybe their own 35, instead of the A&M 42. Those 23ish yards of field position are huge this late in the game. I dunno, I could go either way on this one.Super Nomario said:The problem with taking the safety is that then a field goal wins the game for A&M. Those two points are pretty big.

The rules enacted in 2006 (starting the clock on kickoffs and on a change of possession) were pretty bad and were repealed after only a season. The 2008 rules changes (40 second play clock, restarting the clock on the ready to play whistle after an out-of-bounds) were pretty good, because it shortened the length of games, but forced teams to run more plays due to play clock changes.WayBackVazquez said:But they've done it plenty of times before (eg, the clock used to start after a first down on the snap, not just when ready for play), and I don't imagine it's bothered you.

How will the Million Dollar Band manage the loss of 8 minutes?
