Early in this game, maybe opening drive, the refs made a bad call on a Deandre Hopkins catch and run down the sidelines. They said he stepped out of bounds, but he tightroped it beautifully and never went out. Once the ref blows the whistle, it's over and no review.

The cradle of the game.
Mexico City was selected as the host of the '68 Summer Olympics in 1963. Guess what city came in 2nd in the IOC voting?

Detroit

I was in the car and caught some of the Westwood One radio broadcast. It sounds like they plucked 2 season ticket holders out of the crowd to do the broadcast. I don't know who they are.

Neither of their teams would want to!

On Cutler, there's no question he is a more productive QB than any of that group. I also think there's reason to wonder if he's suck a chucklehead that few or no good coaches would try to build around him.

It is super strange and I couldn't place the accent but it seems to be Mexican broadcasters which makes sense. They're also completely in the bag for the raiders

Yeah, you wouldn't want to build around him, and that's the problem - he's a piece, not a guy you build around. Like Alex Smith in KC or Andy Dalton in Cincy (not that they're similar stylistically, but in terms of role). Gase turned him into essentially a game manager last year, and he had a nice season. If you make him the focal point of the team, he's gonna get your coach fired. But you could put him with a good defense and a couple offensive pieces and not ask him to throw 40 times a game and you'd be fine. Not great, but fine. There's value in that.

I don't know how much stock to place in the "chucklehead" thing - I saw the dude play a half with a broken thumb earlier this year. He had a bum shoulder yesterday and finished the game. I'm skeptical that his attitude issues are more than a clever internet meme.

Barbed wire around the cheap seats is a nice touch---when is Yankee stadium going to implement that?

Best part of that play was neither safety covered the fullback, but neither covered the half back either. Both just lost in space.

This is the worst I have ever seen a team get screwed by refs. Legit took a td off the board and another possession away in the red zone.
