I hate that refs let an obvious incomplete pass go as a fumble to see how the play turns out. I get it, you can always review it... but you see injuries happen on those plays so often.

When there's doubt, sure go with calling it a fumble. But if it's obviously an incomplete pass, blow your fucking whistle.

What a beautiful sequence. Typical Jets drive that starts on the 6, reaches the 33, marches back to to the 15, punt, long Washington return.....and Commanders fumble. Just awesome.

Do they put time back on the clock after something such as that?

Wow, the Browns are just getting MURDERED by the refs. Just absolutely destroyed.

It's like 8 penalties already. All of them but 2 ticky tack.

New Washington owner must be salivating at the idea of getting Maye. Exciting franchise QB prospect is a good way to start the new regime and get fans re-engaged.

I get that it looks like a clear tank job by the Commanders, but some of these guys are playing for their jobs next season. What incentive do they have to purposely play poorly?

None, they’re just bad, especially given they insist on playing Howell, and having an even worse day.

What was that Lion doing after he made the interception? Taunting the Vikings bench mid return lmao?
We were just talking about that. Between that, and the safety not knocking down the fourth down pass, some cluelessness on the part of their secondary

None they are just bad, but the coach knows he's gone and is a coward so stuff like play calling, 4th down decisions and playing QB who is terrible are a key.

Edit also knowing your coach has quit makes it tough

The defense has played pretty well, but the Special Teams are killing them, and the Offense hasn't helped either. All told it's been a very 2023 Pats performance, actually.

Yeah that was pretty bad. We've all seen taunting mid play once a player has a clear path to the endzone. But this guy was mid return with bodies flying everywhere. Amazing.

Fucking get Lock in there, Geno is making his usual bunch of shitty decisions.
Seattle could be an interesting landing spot for Justin Fields. Geno is proving that his hot streak last year was more an outlier and not a sign of him transforming into a decidedly above average QB and I doubt Lock, despite last week’s performance, is the answer (he’s also not under contract for next year)

their defense has fallen apart and they play in a division where they’re going to need to score a lot of points to be competitive. They can’t keep putting getting a new QB off.

mildly surprised Carroll and Schneider aren’t coming under more scrutiny.

Lions took a chance calling time out after a sack, hoping to get a stop and get the ball back on third and 19. Vikings would have been content to go to halftime.

Justin Fields is even dumber than Geno. His only advantage is he can run better. He is definitely not a Pete QB. Their next decent QB is not on their roster, and may not even be in the league right now.

Pete and John have been under a ton of scrutiny in Seattle. They're just isolated out there, so the national news doesn't bother reporting it.

No way Campbell gets through the playoffs without his aggressiveness burning them in a big moment.

he’s dumber perhaps (albeit with some upside to get smarter), but he’s probably their best chance at getting a good young QB next year

not saying it could, would or should happen, but Fields has looked semi decent when throwing to Moore (something like a 140 passer rating to Moore and 75 to his other receivers). If he goes somewhere with good WR, he might be able to develop.

The Seahawks are in an interesting position insofar as they probably don’t want to full reboot with Caroll’s age, they have some good talent on offense, but badly need a QB. Rolling with Geno Smith, Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew or a 3rd tier rookie is probably going to result in another 8 win season and no real threat to San Francisco.

Maybe a dark horse for Cousins? They’ve won one playoff game in the decade since the Super Bowl loss. At some point, there will be pressure on Schneider to win and not keep turning in competitive first playoff round losing teams
