They can try that, though more often I see a combination of these 3:

1. Cut lateral patellar retinaculum (lateral ligaments) to avoid this "pull" on the patella to the outside of the knee

2. Repair medial ligaments (MPFL) to stabilize inside of knee and prevent patella from dislocating to outside of the knee again

3. Re-align the tracking of the patella, as often the patellar tendon in these patients inserts too far on the outside of the shin bone and pulls kneecap outward. If you move the tendon insertion closer to the direct front of the shin bone, it's much harder to dislocate the patella laterally.

For what its worth, Maholmes always seem to run a bit knock-kneed to me, I bet he has some abnormal patellofemoral alignment in the background predisposing him to this they will address in the offseason (if it can wait).
Truly, you put the "rad" into your username.

Always amazed and humbled by the skills and expertise people bring to bear in this forum.

As InstaFace implied, seems pretty radical.

Rad, what would be the typical recovery time for this type of procedure? And is it something you would consider if you wanted to keep playing? Or is it a fix for health after retirement?

Texans/Colts
Cowboys/Eagles
Bears/Saints
Ravens/Seahawks

All of these games should be pretty good. The rest? Blah.

This might be the least interesting week of Sunday match ups ever.
I disagree.

Only two of today’s games have spreads larger than 5 points. So while I agree that I wouldn’t invest three hours in any of the 1pm games, there should be some close games so that those of us who have RedZone (or Sunday Ticket) to have something good to watch. If you don’t have a paid service, the options are lean in the early window, but I feel like that’s usually the case, particularly if you don’t find it compelling to watch the Patriots beat some shitty team.

I’m looking forward to Ravens-Seahawks in the late window and and Cowboys-Eagles tonight.

Cowboys Eagles should be great. If the Eagles lose I can shit-talk my friends and family and if the Cowboys lose I can shit-talk my friends and family. I grew up in Philly and live now in Dallas and strangely enough like both the Iggles and the Cowboys. Banged up battle for the NFC East doesn’t qualify?

Anybody with some linky goodness?

Side note: autocorrect tries to change linky to kinky which would have significantly changed the question.

It tells you how bad the AFC is when you look at the games Nantz and Romo have called:

Titans/Browns
Chiefs/Raiders
Saints/Seahawks
Bears/Vikings
Broncos/Chargers
Jets/Cowboys
Packers/Raiders

Chase Edmonds is filthy. The Cardinals would be a better team if they made him their lead back over David Johnson, who looks slow ever since his injuries.

Gruden with an OPI challenge. Looked like a horseshit call of course but apparently Gruden hasn’t figured out they don’t overturn these.

In the grasp takes a TD off the board for Houston. Don’t remember seeing that before.

Watson just made a sick play that didn’t count because some idiot ref blew the play dead for absolutely no reason

Eh, that doesn't bother me. It's a player safety move, and he appeared to be an inch away from the defender rolling over both of his ankles.

Gruden is up there, but Shanahan and Reich will be tough to beat.
Shanahan is a good call. Depending how things finish, I think Gruden inheriting the dumpster fire is probably better than Reich continuing with a playoff team even losing their franchise QB days before the season.

People give up their bodies for this sport, work hard, practice and these officials just fuck it up regularly.

These calls in Lambeau the past 2 weeks are a disgrace
