I'm surprisingly enjoying Reynolds' work in this Series too.

He was likely moving to back up 3B in the unlikely even that the latest rocket hit off of him didn't clear the fence.
There was no 1 "other." Some are enjoying, some don't like. I was joining forces with the former.DrewDawg said:
The other poster was being sarcastic.
Looked to me like he was at home when he saw it go over, and the started walking up the third baseline, yelling.DrewDawg said:He was likely moving to back up 3B in the unlikely even that the latest rocket hit off of him didn't clear the fence.

Here's my syllogism: from 89 to 97 + yelling at batters = roid rage. I see a 50-game suspension in Strickland's future.DeJesus Built My Hotrod said:In esperanto, Hunter Strickland translates to "Raging Landfill Fire". Playoff Bochy is good but Strickland must have pictures of the lab where Bruce manufactures his special blend of meth.

They call the game straight up - showing emotion even when it is the Royals doing something good - and are easily my favorite radio crew in the majors. Doesn't hurt that I get to listen to Jon Miller for big chunks of the game.

What decisions do you disagree with? The only one that I see as second guess worthy was letting Peavy start the sixth. An end of the bat hit and a walk, and that's where the game was lost. I would have lefty Peavy in there too. His pitch count was low. You had to lift him for Butler, who hits with an OPS around 1.200 against Peavy.Remagellan said:Yost out-managed Bochy in this game. Bochy played this like he was fine with a split, while Yost managed as desperately as he needed to given the situation.

Tim Hudson is starting Game 3 on Friday. Hudson debuted in the majors in June 1999. Tim Raines started in the OF for the A's that day. Tim Raines is now 55 years old and played his first ML game in 1979.
Meaningless but interesting? Or just meaningless?

I actually thought Yost made a blunder not bunting up one with first and second, no out in the sixth. Worked out for him though.

I don't think you can bring Strickland in in a tight spot.

But if Bochy continues to do it, and Strickland continues to yield bombs, the unflagging defense of Bochy will be SSS.
"We did it this way in the regular season" is etched on a few tombstones.

Not that he contributed much, but Daniel Bard did pitch for the Red Sox briefly in 2013, and got a ring.glasspusher said:Remember when the sox had a reliever who could hit 100? Too bad Bard didn't stick around long enough to get a ring.
dcmissle said:Jon Miller is a national treasure. It was that kind of candor during a series of horrendous games that prompted Peter Angelos to fire him. He didn't "bleed enough orange and black." The Miller rants were forms of art because they were very funny and dead on accurate.
Was he loved and appreciated when he was in Boston? Were folks mizbul when he left?E5 Yaz said:Why can't we get guys like Jon Miller? I suppose we'd have nowhere for him to play-by-play
