"injury"With :35 left, why was there going to be a 10 second runoff? LA called a timeout to prevent it but I wasn’t sure why it happened in the first place...
They can only go half yard increments by rule. It’s kinda dumb. But they got screwed on the spot. It was like at the 6 inch line...an easy QB sneak. Spotted are the 3/4 yard line tho
Because the review. The TD stopped the clock, but the rule is if the player is ruled down in play, there is a ten second runoff to account for the time that would have run off if called correctly. With :35 left, why was there going to be a 10 second runoff? LA called a timeout to prevent it but I wasn’t sure why it happened in the first place...
Because Mariota was down in bounds with the call being reversed. Automatic 10 second runoff or a team can call timeout. With :35 left, why was there going to be a 10 second runoff? LA called a timeout to prevent it but I wasn’t sure why it happened in the first place...
Wouldn't it be something like... Titans had no TOs left and if on replay Mariota was ruled down the clock would've kept running? With :35 left, why was there going to be a 10 second runoff? LA called a timeout to prevent it but I wasn’t sure why it happened in the first place...
Huh? His team was in a situation where they gain one yard and they win the game. I have no issue at all with going for it, but the playcall itself was questionable.Vrabel's got to be a lot of bluster with little brains. The number of times I've seen him screaming on the sidelines, and then to make that kind of emotional meltdown in coaching to lose? Crazy.
Or call a play that has a chance, considering you have a mobile QB and one of the more dynamic runners in the game.Watching game at sports bar on Broadway in Nashville. The locals are pissed. F-bombs galore. Kick your XP and move on.
Plus you are on the road in a hostile environment. Go for the win on the road, play for the tie at home.Huh? His team was in a situation where they gain one yard and they win the game. I have no issue at all with going for it, but the playcall itself was questionable.
You really think their chances were better going for it all rather than playing an overtime? They clearly had a better percentage playing an overtime.Huh? His team was in a situation where they gain one yard and they win the game. I have no issue at all with going for it, but the playcall itself was questionable.
Road maybe, but hardly hostile. They had won the crowd.Plus you are on the road in a hostile environment. Go for the win on the road, play for the tie at home.
ignore Cowher, this was bad analytics. Now Cowher gets to go on his anti-analytics rant!
FYI, this is the same ruling that led to the end of the Falcons-Lions game last year in Detroit - I think it was Golden Tate who seemed to have scored a TD with 8 seconds left, but he was ruled down short of the goalline after a review, and the 10 second run-off ended the game (because the Lions had no timeouts left). With :35 left, why was there going to be a 10 second runoff? LA called a timeout to prevent it but I wasn’t sure why it happened in the first place...
My crackpot theory on why so many kickers seem to be struggling in the NFL: extra points are now 33-yarders instead of 20-yarders, but fans and coaches still view them as something that should be automatic, so the pressure involved with them is disproportionately high, and any misses are magnified...which leads to more pressure on all FGs under 40 yards, and a self-destructive cycle for all but the best and mentally strongest kickers.Simultaneous missed extra points for TB and Indy.
Reid slung down Wentz after the handoff. Why did Ertz go after Eric Reid?
On offense and defenseThe Jags have absolutely collapsed since they won their super bowl.
The halftime show for the pats game said they pulled Bortles. The Jags have absolutely collapsed since they won their super bowl.
Their Week 1 win against the Giants hasn’t aged well either. Other than the Pats’ game, they simply haven’t looked like a good team. The QB situation is a big part of the problem, but you can’t lay all the blame on Bortles. The Jags have absolutely collapsed since they won their super bowl.
