Terry has always been good at this and calls it like he sees itI love how now that everyone is complaining about the refs that the Steratores and McCauleys are all suddenly disagreeing with their calls.
Was more of a bad throw than great defensive play. But he was there to make the playGilmore…always in position.
i know i mean that buffalo coach is tone deaf nothing good happahed on 9-11 i wouild had loved to kill osama with my bare hands osama better be happy i was not on that plane or he wouyild had learn about john mclean from die hardBills did Osama bin Laden proud today.
yeah his career shouild be over u dont put your hands on a womanVon Miller played? Wasn’t he just accused of domestic violence during the week?
yeah gilmore is a good case a bigger ty lawFuture Hall of Famer?
He’s got a slightly better individual resume than Ty Law. Both were 5x Pro Bowlers and 2x 1st team AP, but Gilmore also has the 2019 DPoY; Law never finished better than 3rd in the voting. But I don’t think Law is in without the three rings, and Gilmore only has one.
Zing!especially if they are lined up so far offsides where they’re actually blocking our view of the ball.
If they start calling tightly having the right number of players on the LOS, and whether an eligible receiver is on or off the LOS, it’ll be a real hoot! What a great new “point of emphasis”!
This is a league that changed the catch rule mid game in the Super Bowl. They make “points of emphasis” to suit their needs, often on a whim. I’m not bitter thoWhat a great new “point of emphasis”!
It's gotta be tough weak after weak wondering if the NFL is going to give them every call they expect to get or not... and if they're going to be allowed to disregard the rules completely or just sometimes.I feel bad for the Chiefs. First the officials starting calling when their tackle moves early, now they won't let their wide receivers line up illegally.
they never call offsides until after the ball is snapped. He could have gone onsides before the ball was snapped and had no issues. But instead they want to claim some grand conspiracy theory that the NFL is out to get them. It's gotta be tough weak after weak wondering if the NFL is going to give them every call they expect to get or not... and if they're going to be allowed to disregard the rules completely or just sometimes.
one question though.. with offensive offsides..why isn't the play just whistled dead? Seems weird to keep the play going where the only real possibility of anything counting is a turnover or at best a defensive penalty that offsets the initial penalty.
They should at least wait until the League takes a few first round picks away before they claim conspiracy. As it is this plot adds up to a road playoff game. God forbid.they never call offsides until after the ball is snapped. He could have gone onsides before the ball was snapped and had no issues. But instead they want to claim some grand conspiracy theory that the NFL is out to get them.
The crazy part is that 1. They admit he was offside.. so it was the right call. 2. They still could have made a play to get the first down..They should at least wait until the League takes a few first round picks away before they claim conspiracy. As it is this plot adds up to a road playoff game. God forbid.
The comments to the media and sideline hysterics were amateurish. They should have let off steam before making any comments. Frustration, sure. But they have no one but themselves to blame for this one. I actually thought Mahomes handled the previous week pretty well. This one, not so much. And Reid appeared to egg him on with his own comments.
Ok.. but why continue after the snap? The offense can’t really do anything positive with the play..other than get the defense to commit a penalty.they never call offsides until after the ball is snapped. He could have gone onsides before the ball was snapped and had no issues. But instead they want to claim some grand conspiracy theory that the NFL is out to get them.
I guess it is a free play for the defense, just like defensive offsides is a free play for the offense. That seems fair. The defense gets the choice to take the penalty or the result of the play.Ok.. but why continue after the snap? The offense can’t really do anything positive with the play..other than get the defense to commit a penalty.
Yeah this is actually a rules difference I did not know. In NCAA football offensive offside immediately kills the play.Ok.. but why continue after the snap? The offense can’t really do anything positive with the play..other than get the defense to commit a penalty.
He may have Kelce but his receivers and RBs are probably the worst of his career. The Chiefs are scoring 22 points per game. Why isn't that a bigger story? Elite QB in his prime with an elite play caller and scheme and Travis Kelce scoring 4 fewer point per game than Peyton Manning did throwing to Austin Collie and Pierre Garçon and Brady did throwing to Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell, in a more favorable offensive environment.
I wonder what State Farm will say about this. Will they provide coverage?I'm curious to see what they say today, a day removed. Do they triple-down? Or walk it back?
Honestly, that was the rationale on the Dee Ford call. One of the experts discussing the play (Gene Steratore?) said that if a player is slightly over, the ref will tell them to get onsides before the play, but if they're way into the neutral zone, the ref will expect the player to recognize that and get back onsides on their own.View: https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1734040949934690558
Pool report was pretty funny.
Basically... yeah sometimes if you ask we'll let you know, but when you're so far offsides we can't even see the ball.... that's on you.
