I hate that in that circumstance there is not much disincentive to holding or committing PI. Best case, they don’t call it. Worst case, you give up 18 inches.

This is 100% correct. The defender never turned around and had hands on the receiver. If the refs won’t call back to back calls, it’s over.

I don’t see the value in pointing this out publicly though, other than to shift blame.

Yeah, the easy answer to that question is "I'm not going to get into the exact coach QB communications, but obviously we should have been passing in that situation and I need to do a better job preparing everyone".
