Sounds like nothing else for the Sox. I'm fine with that. DD did a pretty good job this deadline and really didn't gut the farm whatsoever

If anything big happens at this point, I'd be stunnedYou had to jinx it
The Nomar trade was announced post-deadline. Things happenIf anything big happens at this point, I'd be stunned
I'd say we are at least a half-hour from saying that for certain.Seems like we're done for the day...
He is a step below Moncada and NES, but still a top 20 guy. He has had a monstrous second half and considering he is only 19 and in Salem, it is very possible he was told to work on seeing pitches in the first half. His walk rate has improved and he is hitting for more power than last year. Not to mention he has 4 HRs in the last 9 games. Who do you think is in his class as far as redsox prospects when you consider age, level and results? I could see making an argument that Basabe could have a similar ceiling due to defense and speed, but he has a huge hole in his swing and way more bust potential. I'm not seeing it? Maybe Kopech and Groom if all goes well.I said it earlier I think Devers is overrated (top 50 in my book not top 20). I think they have several prospects in the Devers class.
Glazed or plain?Sandoval, Castillo and Allen Craig are going to Dunkin Donuts for cruellers
They can have Sale. I would much rather the Red Sox empty the farm on JoFer (if he ever becomes available).Talking about them because they now have the minor league capital to go out and get whoever they want. They want JoFer? They can get him. Sale? They can afford him as well...
I'm fine with passing at that price. Hopefully the Sox give Swihart another chance behind the plate.Looks like Rangers for Lucroy is done. Gallo on the return.
Something else has to be happening here
Told ya the Sox should've made him a reliever last year when they had the chance...All of this trade deadline talk and nobody has called asking for Sandoval...
Had to amend the post, MLB Network talked about Gallo then the structure was different.I'm fine with passing at that price. Hopefully the Sox give Swihart another chance behind the plate.
So the Yankees are now the Rays. How is this anything but LOL-Awesome with a shit eating grin from ear to ear? Some things in life baffle me.As I said above, I really don't think this is their plan. What Jeff Passan just tweeted is much more towards their (very general) plan IMO:

2019 Yankees? Sanchez 2 Bird 3 Mateo 4 Machado 5 Torres 6 Ellsbury 7 Frazier 8 Harper 9 Judge DH
SP: Fernandez, Tanaka, Sheff, Kap, Tate
Agreed. He made his trades before the deadline price insanity. Sounds like he did his due diligence today but would not overpay with any of the Big 4.Sounds like nothing else for the Sox. I'm fine with that. DD did a pretty good job this deadline and really didn't gut the farm whatsoever
Just wait until the 2019 season when the Yankees roll out a lineup with nine Hall of Famers and a rotation of five HoFers. They won't even need a bullpen!Rangers offense is going to be insane
there's a true gamethread reactionJeffress to the Rangers in that deal
The Sox are so far behind Cleveland and Texas in terms of talent now
Rangers pitching isn't anything special still. Cleveland on the other hand, yes I agreeJeffress to the Rangers in that deal
The Sox are so far behind Cleveland and Texas in terms of talent now
Right, and even more, they have been essentially forced into this by how successful Boston has been at building a young core. I don't know why any Sox fans wouldn't be thrilled about where their team stands currently, not just this season but even more so going forward. So the Yankees are now the Rays. How is this anything but LOL-Awesome with a shit eating grin from ear to ear? Some things in life baffle me.
"It's not Joey Gallo, it's Joey Callo, with a C"Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 2m2 minutes ago
Joey Gallo not in the Lucroy deal, per @Sullivan_Ranger. Says it's Lewis Brinson and Luis Ortiz.
What about frosted sprinkles? Or would that require Trey Ball as well?Panda chooses "all"
Hughes2.54 is that you? The return of the Royal Flush!!!Just wait until the 2019 season when the Yankees roll out a lineup with nine Hall of Famers and a rotation of five HoFers. They won't even need a bullpen!
I heard that Harper and Machado are actually considering paying New York for the privilege of playing there.
