Did they get a QB that missed? I don't care if you have Walter Payton running behind the old Cowboys offensive line, you can't win in this NFL without a QB. And Brody Croyle ain't getting it done.

KC seems like a perfect team for a 1-2 year filler QB. They need an O-line before they get a QB otherwise it doesn't matter if you have Brady back there.

Right I agree that Croyle isn't the answer. I'm just saying when you have so many names on the draft tracker after your team of course it's going to look like a solid draft. They could use a Kevin O'Connell or John David Booty though.

Does KC even scout or are they just going by ESPN rankings? Geez.

What about this King guy? He's still the best avail, has not flags and is a speedy guy. ...for the Pats I mean.

I wouldn't have minded them grabbing King and Manningham in this round.

Anybody catching this Del Rio interview on NFLN?

"We didn't actually have the points to make the move up, but fortunately we were involved with Baltimore who wanted to move down."

So the teams really use that draft chart it sounds like.

I do know one thing. He's better than Pierre Woods, who also went to Michigan.
I'm a Michigan grad (like RIC and CS)... and I happen to like Crable.

There are some similarities to Woods, in that both were VERY highly recruited coming out of high school. It could also be argued, like a lot of other Carr-era players, that they didn't receive the coaching that maximized their strengths... but the flip side of the argument for both is that Woods and Crable didn't take advantage of their talents, either.

Pats, going back to Parcells, have always been interested in Michigan players due to pro-style system and traditional talent base. Once here, the Pats usually have had success "coaching them up". Brady, Law, Robert Perryman, Corwin Brown, Woods, Crable, Gutierrez (Henne's back-up before transferring), etc. etc.

Crable took a couple of years at Michigan to "get it", but came on like gangbusters his senior year (I think he was defensive captain). When he got to Michigan, he was something like 220 lbs. on a 6'5" or so frame. Really skinny for a football player. His legs remain thin, and he's much better going forward (rushing the passer) vs. going backwards (coverage), so I can see him evolving into the Rosevelt Colvin position over time, anticipating that he'll play special teams (where I bet he'll do well) and perform as a situational pass rusher, which the Pats will need with Colvin gone and Vrable getting older.

Dallas I could see, but I don't think Indy will take him. I don't think we will either though, so...

This next Pats pick - I wonder if now is the time the switch to TE (Kellen Davis) or OL. I still think there are some solid CB/S/LB prospects out there.

The Pats should call Indy and offer the 94th pick plus their entire video library of opposing teams' practice sessions and walk throughs for the 93rd pick.

THAT would be fun.
