Shoot.  Saric to Philly for Payton, so Philly tanks next year too.

And I guess this is my issue with Smart. There are lots of guards left at 17, which is not surprising. But if Smart is Wade obviously that's cool. In Danny I trust I guess.

I think the best comp for Smart is Derrick Rose.  Stronger than everyone he plays against, just a physical specimen.  Not as fast as Rose, but pretty close.  More I think about it, really good pick.

ps, David Thorpe says Smart is his pick for ROY if Rondo traded.

How does this make sense?  There must be something else, right?  Why didn't the 6ers just pick Saric?

Rumor is the 76ers get their own 2017 1st back.

I'd like to watch this but my hatred for Bill Simmons makes me change the channel whenever he speaks and since he never shuts up I only get to see about 5 seconds at a time.

Because it's likely the Magic wanted Payton, and are probably throwing something else in to sweeten the pot.

Wojo says that Zach Lowe is wrong, and that all that is going with Saric is a 2nd.

ESPN's feed now agrees.  just a 2nd.

Josh Robbins

So, to repeat: The Magic send Saric's draft rights and send a future 2nd-round pick to Sixers for rights to Payton.

This is exactly my question. Maybe it saves them a tiny bit of money?

Edit: ok you guys answered my question.

I have NC State with every fiber of my being but that guy is a baller.  Was the only reason State wasn't 3-26 last season.

Wow Andy Katz with a new twist on the Magic Sixers trade

Andy Katz

Here is the trade: Orlando sends rights to Dario Saric and will return Sixers pick in '15 and a 2nd in '15 for rights for Elfrid Payton.

That seems like alot

Looks like Lowe was right.

A future 1st and a 2nd to move up 2 spots is a lot.

Now woj says the sixers are getting there 2017 1st back in the saric trade, unclear if thats in addition to the 2nd they maybe got.  Basically no one has a clue

Is Nurkic a rim protector? I know nothing about the Euros.  I see he's big.
Not really a rim protector, no. His best case is Damarcus Cousins?

Nurkic would be my top choice. I might rather they skip the pick entirely than take Hood however.

I wouldn't be excited about it, but he can shoot.  That's all I got.  I may prefer Capella, if I think about it.

But Nurkic is getting close...
