It's only Cuba. It's only Cuba. It's only Cuba. It's only Cuba.

I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

I just hope they don't go full Honduras and spend the whole second half trying to injure someone.

I'll be at the game, hopefully arriving around 6 and catching part of Honduras/Panama.

USA played Haiti in the 2009 Gold Cup and needed a stoppage time goal from Stu Holden to pull out a draw.  I remember that - it was embarrassing.  But the lineup that day, woof:

Cooper - Arnaud
Quaranta - Holden - Cronin - C. Clark
Heaps - Parkhurst - Conrad - Evans
Robles

I had completely forgotten about Colin Clark's one cap for the USMNT.

Conor Casey got injured early in that Gold Cup, I think.  They needed another guy with the same initials.

You may be thinking of the 2005 Gold Cup, when Casey tore his ACL.  In the summer of 2009, he was with the big boys in South Africa for the Confederations Cup.  Davies, Robles, Feilhaber, and Adu were the only overlapping players, I believe.

The peak of his USMNT career came in Oct 2009:

Right -- 2005.  What's 4 years?  Kind of blends together.  Yeah, I remember that Honduras game -- I think that secured qualification.

My plan as well, hopefully traffic isn't a complete blunder that early.

Traffic in Frisco was a complete clusterfuck on Tuesday starting at about 5:00 (aka, one hour prior to kickoff of Haiti vs Panama). I wouldn't expect the traffic in and around Foxboro to be much better. T&P to all who are attending.

I'll be there as well. Hopefully the lineup looks better than the one posted above. Yikes.

Pretty sure I just saw Clint Dempsey in an elevator with a few of his teammates in Quincy. Possible?

I hate Fox.
You should learn to speak Spanish. You're in California, for crying out loud! If you don't like it, get the hell out.

Yeah, that sounds every bit as stupid going the other way.

I know a bunch of Spanish curse words, does that count?

I actually watched the Copa America final in Spanish rather than English, because for some reason I have Spanish beIN in HD but the English one is only SD.

That would really only help you with a Mexico game. You would at least know "the word" chanted by the crowd.

Tim Ream looks either nervous or like he's just been told his family has been kidnapped.

lot of changes for this lineup. Giving some players some run with the presumed weaker Haiti?

US being punished, hard, on the counter. Zusi will not, and should not, make another USMNT roster after this; he's way too slow now to compete even at this level. Garza is also overmatched physically.

What is Garza doing. He gave that guy 5 free yards in the box. Any top striker buries that opportunity.

don't watch that much, honest question does jozy not have a left foot (in terms of scoring)? With johansson offside there was no other reason to cut back into 3 Haiti defenders, right?

His left is weak, but he is still the starting F for a good international team. You hit that with your left either taking a shot or he has the step so he could play a low cross to the 2 forwards heading to the front of the goal. A low far shot also offers the chance of rebound from the keeper that your forwards are crashing onto.

and Tangled, no the quick tip doesn't affect the offsides. Still depends where AJ was when the ball was played.

AJ continues to make strong plays out there.

I'm taking Garza off he has not impressed and seems like a weakness. FJ in.

Take Jozy off, push Dempsey up with AJ, slide MB up and bring on someone to play the Beckerman role. Haiti is getting too many runs directly at the CB. Albeit less now than earlier in the game. Either Beckerman himself or someone JK thinks can play that role with Beckerman looking a little slow last game.

It's not my imagination, right? Every time Altidore touches the ball he fucks it up.

Is such a low scoring sport, shouldn't more emphasis be placed on getting offsides correct?

How jacked Altidore's upper body is combined with how bad he is on the ball feels like a joke about misplaced soccer priorities.

I generally think people are too hard on Jozy. But not this tournament. He's been very poor so far.

It's a possession lineup (w/ Zusi and Mix in) but they haven't been possessing well. Something has to change.

I'm sitting in the corner in front of Garza - he's physically a big liability. Just athletically isn't up to the level.

It would help if they'd stop trying home run balls over the top although they were somewhat successful with a few. Jozy just can't play this style and it shows

One would think they would try to exploit the Haitians' tendency to go to ground against them in the second half. That would require putting your ass and your ankles on the line but it could be a way to use their defensive aggressiveness against them.

The success of such a strategy would require the ref to take his head out of his ass, however.

Edit: Bye bye, Jozy.
