And: behold the Rockets without him.Harden put up 40/8/15 with only two turnovers, doing it all without KD and Kyrie. Nets are 14-1 in their last 15 games, all without KD. Harden’s not going to win MVP but there’s no player in the league that gives his team such a high floor. He’s putting up 26/9/12 on 64% true shooting with the Nets. Godly numbers.
100%. I'm so impressed with how Harden is playing in Brooklyn -- he is showing himself to be truly great. That said, the whole season counts and while it doesn't count against him that Hou has sucked since he left, but the way he played/they played while he was there is definitely part of the equation. To me, as great as he has been w/ the Nets, that kills his candidacy this year.Yeah, Harden is going to end up with easily the weirdest MVP case in history. How can somehow he basically destroyed the team he started the season on be considered for MVP?
Randle has had 34 assists in his last 4 games since they began running the offense through him similar to how the Warriors use Draymond. This kid has never stopped improving since the minute he stepped foot in the league.Early third quarter of Knicks-Magic:
Julius Randle-14 assists
everyone else on both teams combined-12 assists
ATL may not have two players as good as Jaylen and Tatum, but it has a lot more offensive weapons overall. The Hawks are...about to win their 7th game in a row and overtake the Celtics in the Eastern Conference standings? Say what now?
83 combined between them and they beat Phoenix. This is what I mean when I say every team in the NBA has talent.Edwards and Towns both have 39 atm. 3 and change left in a very close game.
He’s going to be a real good shooter too once he figures out shot selection and gets in more reps. He’s already dangerous once he gets in a rhythm but still very inconsistent. The mechanics, release and touch are all evident.Edwards really feels like a young Russ from the athleticism to the speed to the seemingly relentless attack mode. He is doing some incredible NBA things of late for a 19 year old.
He has a 10 pt streak. I think he's done for the day nowLeBron just went down in the Lakers-Hawks game - looks like an ankle injury. (He was literally writhing and rolling around in pain.)
EDIT - and now he's back up and straight back into the game. And of course he hit a three on the Lakers' first possession.
EDIT #2 - and now he's gone to the locker room. Hmmm.
I don't care who they have or haven't beaten. The five seed is a very nice spot for this Hawks team.Trae failed to make a single trey today, but he passed the ball well (11 assists), and Collins was a beast - nice bench performance from Gallinari as well. The Lakers without LeBron and Davis were there to be beaten, but you can only beat the teams in front of you, and that's what the Hawks have been very good at doing over the past couple of weeks.
Obviously, 8 in a row is good regardless, but of those 8 wins, 7 were games against sub .500 teams in OKC, SAC, ORL, HOU, CLE, ORL, and TOR. The other win was against a MIA team without Butler
You listed ORL twice; actually, 6 of the 8 were against sub-.500 teams, with the Lakers and Miami being the two over .500 teams. The Lakers and Heat were missing key players for some or all of their games, of course - but to be fair, the Hawks have also been without Hunter (and Reddish, and Dunn) throughout the current winning streak. And still...it's not like every team (cough*Celtics*cough) is able to roll straight through lesser opposition night in and night out.Obviously, 8 in a row is good regardless, but of those 8 wins, 7 were games against sub .500 teams in OKC, SAC, ORL, HOU, CLE, ORL, and TOR. Looks like the Lakers are five losses above Dallas for the 8 seed. Would be a real real shame if they dropped that far.high ankle sprain, out indefinitely - Woj

Can Kris Dunn be considered a key player? He might be - his perimeter defense could be huge on a team that doesn't have much - but I put him in parentheses for a reason. Can Kris Dunn be considered a key player? He hasn't played a minute this entire year
Doubt this is true. They need to finish within a game or two of .500 to be in the playin game. They are currently 28-13, so only need to finish the season playing MIN/DET basketball for the remainderLakers actually need davis back now to make the playoffs
Draymond doesn't get lower leg injuries. He gives them. He is back out there now too.Now Draymond Green goes down in a lot of pain, also lower leg.
Actually, Draymond gives middle leg injuries.Draymond doesn't get lower leg injuries. He gives them. He is back out there now too.

Who the hell are they going to beat with that roster sans AD and Lebron?Doubt this is true. They need to finish within a game or two of .500 to be in the playin game. They are currently 28-13, so only need to finish the season playing MIN/DET basketball for the remainder
The Celtics?Who the hell are they going to beat with that roster sans AD and Lebron?
Perhaps nobody. That's the thing though, they can go 0-14 over the next 4 weeks and still be well in the playoff race at 28-28. Then getting AD and Lebron back rested and healthy and well...Who the hell are they going to beat with that roster sans AD and Lebron?
Isn’t having your team healthy the biggest issue for every championship contender? Certainly it is for Philly. Doc coaches with that in mind because his two top players are nursing knee problems like soreness and swelling. Obviously, the Lakers have a similar situation with their top two. This is basketball. Even Giannis is one bad landing away from a high ankle sprain.Perhaps nobody. That's the thing though, they can go 0-14 over the next 4 weeks and still be well in the playoff race at 28-28. With LBJ and Embiid missing so much time, who is the MVP leader at this point? If you’re talking most valuable, Harden has been unbelievable, keeping Brooklyn so close to the top while dealing with an injured Durant and the emotionally fragile Irving.LeBron also atypically played in almost every game this season; which was pretty odd given his typical philosophy of getting plenty of rest during the regular season to be primed for the playoffs, especially this year with the more compact schedule and the short-turnaround from the bubble. I think he really did want to win MVP this year.
I have Jokic as my MVP, dude is destroying teams. He's averaging something like 27/11/9 on great efficiency. With LBJ and Embiid missing so much time, who is the MVP leader at this point? I see him more for MOP.I have Jokic as my MVP, dude is destroying teams. He's averaging something like 27/11/9 on great efficiency.

This deserves love.Actually, Draymond gives middle leg injuries.
