Would he be an upgrade over Grant?
Would he be an upgrade over Grant?
Better rebounder and a mid-range gamer for sure and he'll get better refereeing than Grant, even if he's a corpse of his former self. I'd certainly trade Grant, Bol Bol, and PJ for him, if you're not counting $ and intangibles. Grant is kind of the current version of their ML Carr though . . .Would he be an upgrade over Grant?
Mill sap is physically shot. He’s no longer an NBA player imo…..he’s been like Juancho-level bad for a couple years now.Would he be an upgrade over Grant?
Imagine how hard Lakers fans are laughing at our last decade while they are raising another banner. The fact that we're piecing together who runs the team by forensic anecdotal accounting shows what a turd show that organization is.
Good for them that they're in LA and that means something to people, because it's hardly a Wharton case study on organizational behavior.
Like I said, I'm sure that their fans appreciate the shit luck that comes with being the flagship franchise in the world's TV and Movie capital city. It's a great thing, if you're a Lakers fan. That doesn't change that the org is run by shitheads.Imagine how hard Lakers fans are laughing at our last decade while they are raising another banner.
The Lakers have been run terribly for the last decade, but the Cavs really aren't any better. The Lakers are lucky because they are the "flagship franchise in the world's TV and Movie capital city," and the Cavs were equally lucky (at least with regards to LeBron and their 4 year run his second time around):Like I said, I'm sure that their fans appreciate the shit luck that comes with being the flagship franchise in the world's TV and Movie capital city. This suits me just fine, since they almost certainly would have capitalized on that advantage even more. Hell if they tank again this year, that could be four years of the best player on earth and one trip to the finals (and one ring). In Lebron's second stint with the Cavs, he went to the finals all four years (also one ring). The Cavs built a better team around him, and nobody wants to live in Cleveland.
I definitely drank a lot tonight, but I'm still pretty sure I'm not giving it to Jeanie. For all her bad decisions, one reason Jeannie also gets a lot of DotB, is that she got the best player of all time to sign there, and added another top 10 or so player, and it led to a title. You win a championship you get a lot of rope.
This would be hilarious after months of this board complaining Smart is a bad fit for this team because he can't shoot. So here is a fun hypo.....
If the Wall/Westbrook trade happens, would you want the Celtics to be in on Russ after the buyout?
Russ wont end up on the clipps for a couple of reasons. One, pg and Kawhi are probably done for the year and, more importantly, he feels snaked by Kawhi and PG over a couple years ago. And russ holds grudgesFrom Russ' perspective, what are the most appealing options in terms of role, geography, etc. I believe he wants the rock and wants to play a lot---so situations where he is a secondary player to me just aren't realistic.
I'm not sure the Celtics fit that picture, but his relationship (or lack thereof) with Tatum and Brown likely is the key. I tend to think it's not worthwhile for Celts (he's a really odd fit, you'd almost want him to replicate the Houston role where he was offensively the center to a degree) but it'd be fun to see. And him pushing pace would help. That said, I would imagine Clippers being at top of his list, especially short-term as they have a real need for offense and it's perfect geographically. And I think they probably would be interested too.
No one tell Brad. I saw reports he was in on Theis. I'm afraid he'll try to get all of his old players back.I love this bit in that article
Semi Ojeleye is considered available for trade
I wouldn’t mind Rozier (expendable with Lamelo’s emergence?) and/or Hayward coming back. Unfortunately they make too muchNo one tell Brad. I saw reports he was in on Theis. I'm afraid he'll try to get all of his old players back.
Not Burks, that's a good contract. 9.5 this year, 10 next and a 10.5 team option, and there is a good case he's the second or third best player on the Knicks. He has actual positive value, unlike Fournier. They are also open to voiding their contracts and pretending they never existed.
You are welcome to him, I’d like to see Grimes and McBride get his minutes. Not Burks, that's a good contract. 9.5 this year, 10 next and a 10.5 team option, and there is a good case he's the second or third best player on the Knicks. He has actual positive value, unlike Fournier.
To give you and idea the asking price, apparently Morey RECENTLY asked ATL for Collins, Bogdanovic and THREE firsts for Simmons and Harris.

Ugh. Didn't need a Rad Sox Fan prognosis for that one — his left knee buckled inward at a hideous angle with his foot planted. Seems like a super cool dude; totally sucks for him with free agency impending. Hope he recovers 100%. His elite three ball, passing, and hoops IQ will help some team, even at age 35.
Too bad. I like him. At least it's just an ACL. That one looked bad.
Yeah that was ugly and obvious. As far as contention though he isn’t much of a factor anymore and wasn’t playing crunch time minutes when the team was healthy. The Jazz go as far as Gobert and Mitchell, in that order, take them. After them, they need Clarkson or Conley to catch fire.Ugh. As for the Jazz: while he's not quite as critical to them as he was at his peak 2-3 years ago. it's still a huge loss for them. Gotta think they're toast as a title contender, if they weren't already.
He may play again but it was effectively a career ending injury. Maybe he will make a comeback but he's pretty old to do so.Ugh. Considering his athletic drop off this season I’d tend to agree with this.He may play again but it was effectively a career ending injury. Maybe he will make a comeback but he's pretty old to do so.
It's a decent loss, but he was honestly the most likely guy to get traded, now he probably still does. Same as Rubio really. Trade a guy out for the year as the salary fill with pick/youth, team getting him never makes him reportUgh. I assume he was critical of ownership or something and pissed them off, but good lord what a bad PR move. It's JERRY WEST!!
Ego and pettiness can be traits of those who reach great heights. Lakers pull the logo’s season tickets, Pitino moves Auerbach’s office to the basement without a job title, etc etc.I assume he was critical of ownership or something and pissed them off, but good lord what a bad PR move. It's JERRY WEST!!
It was Charles Oakley, right? That's a Knicks move. In general, avoid doing that.
I'm Team West, but this is kind of true. While I agree with West (and it's stupid the Busses didn't just put him in charge of the Lakers years ago), I guess if I'm in the Lakers FO I'm kind of like ..."he publicly disses us to one and all in public and in private as dysfunctional losers, and we're supposed to keep giving him season tickets, too?"In the lakers defense, he works for the clippers and has had no issue talking shit about the lakers over the years. Really petty but I'm guessing something he said recently set this off.
But it appears they can fuck with him. Has there been outrageous blowback from this? Seems like it has already blown over, IMOYou can't fuck with a guy like that unless he is a total embarrassment and a major PR nightmare (like, if he was saying anti-semitic stuff or something). Getting upset that he is (rightfully) ripping your performance is just something you have to deal with.
I dont think that's a gross simplification at allThis is a gross simplification of history; but Jerry West BUILT the Los Angeles Lakers. The only reason Buss, Pelinka, etc. have one of the most marketable franchises in pro sports is because of Jerry West.
