There’s no way in the playoffs they’ll end a game on a pitch count violation, right? Because even if it’s the rule, that would be just awful. That’s NOT how baseball should work. Even though I’m kind of liking the improved pace of play.

This is literally the first day guys have seen this in action, outside of whatever "practice" their teams have been running them through.

It PROBABLY won't happen in the playoffs, because these guys are professionals, and this is their entire life's work, so they will be much more used to the new rules by then. But if, after 162 games + playoffs of the rules being in place, if a batter gets a called 3rd strike or a pitcher gets a called 4th ball because they have failed to make the adjustment, that is on them, in my opinion.

Oh trust me, every player in MLB has seen this by now today. They know the rule and be better be focused at the plate more than ever before. That was 100% on the hitter. He lost his focus and choked out a potential game winning situation. Sure, it's Spring Traing but it can't happen now. Everyone has seen it.

That could work as an opening day lineup (Arroyo at 2B, provided he's healthy). Although I think Cora will try to alternate left-right at the top as much as he can.
