He has an opt out that earns him $7M if he leaves, $13M (I think) if he stays.
Nike announced the other day that Judge had signed with Jumpman and they had him recreating the Jordan pic with all his “rings”.
He has a player option next year for $13.4MM. He'll be back. Seen multiple interviews with him and his wife on how much they absolutely love Boston.
He's always sitting by Cora too in the dugout. He's a student of the game and will be a great coach like Varitek someday.
Can someone point me to the hilarious (fictional) writeup of the backstories of all these people?
Thing is, though, he gets $7M if he opts out. I hope he is back, and I hope he loves it here enough to pick up the option, but I suspect he opts out and they make a new deal if he does come back.
