Seems to me Alex is done. His managing decisions scream of a guy who’s ready to move on. I like Alex, and think he’s a good manager, but probably time for both parties to head their separate ways.

Seems like forever since I have felt confident with either Story and Yoshida at the plate.
Not sure pinch-hitting either would have improved chances much.

I had little faith that they’d do better than .500 in this 10-game stretch against Houston and LA, but I really didn’t expect this series to be as brutal as it was. Total no-show all the way around.

Red Sox played the Blue Jays and Astros 6 times this August at Fenway and lost all 6. That's the season. If they played .500 we still be in it. Thank you Alex Cora and your coaching staff for preparing this Red Sox team.

Gotta hope Texas continues to crash and burn, and that the Sox have one hot streak left in them.
Texas has 7 left with Seattle, 3 left with Houston, and 3 with us.
Help us, Texas Rangers. You're our only hope.

12-15 since the trade deadline. Does anyone still think we shouldn't have sold? A total misread of the quality of this team by management.
Right here in this thread Bloom is being bashed for not buying.
And thank you Chaim Bloom for addressing the glaring needs of this team at the trade deadline
What Bloom should have done at the deadline is obvious! Everyone agrees! Everything would be better if he just sold everything at the deadline and also brought in good pitchers. It was so obvious!

Toronto has a real easy schedule. If anyone is going to benefit from Texas crashing it will be them.

I think the Sox should have traded away all the hitters that make any outs whatsoever and replaced them with guys who OPS at 1900.

Ditto pitchers who surrender any runs. Why do the Sox employ any of those people?

Bloom failed. Also, all decisions should 100% be results based.

You forgot the fielders who dive for a ball and simply lie there as the ball continues into the outfield and is picked up by the outfielder

Also, Fuck Cora. And Raffy- 0 for in all his at bats that didn’t result in hits lately. Total loser!

Ask Met fans how happy they are that their team gave up.

As I stated at the time, I was fine with Bloom standing pat because our chances this season would rest on the guys coming back from injury performing up to their talents. That hasn't happened, but to dismiss the hope of it would have been harder to bear than this disappointment.

In my 179 years watching professional sports I have simply never been more offended by the way the Sox lay all over the field. They should be called the Layabouts, not the Red Sox.

Bloom should have seen all of this coming - he gets paid to see the future - but he didn't. Fire him, Cora and release everyone on the big league roster. Failures each and every one. Its absolutely unforgivable.
