It was a beautiful dig"Defense matters." ~ Louis Merloni, in a subtle jab at the team that employs him.
He sucks, he blows, he's barely breathingWalter flat out sucks.
Especially with Laz Diaz behind the plateI feel bad for Walter. Must be fucking wild to not be able to throw a strike.
He's on third; Estabrook has the plate.Especially with Laz Diaz behind the plate
You talking about Kutter Crawford? He has blown past his career high in IP. Not shocking he is out of gas. He was fine until he hit a wall.Murphy, Walter, Crawford all revealing themselves to be the JAGs we thought they were.
Maybe Laz Diaz is contagiousHe's on third; Estabrook has the plate.
You forget. There's several posters who believe that the "innings wall" is a mythical creation ... like unicorns and political moderatesYou talking about Kutter Crawford? He has blown past his career high in IP. Not shocking he is out of gas. He was fine until he hit a wall.

I do not think they are capable of winning 19 games in a row.A valiant effort in the bottom of the ninth.
Nothing a 19 game winning streak won't fix.
Chaim and the vaunted Red Sox pitching program seemed to have a lot of guys fizzle out at the 80-100 inning mark.It seems Chaim Bloom is one of those posters.
The $1,000,000 question is whether it’s the program or the guys the front office is picking to participate in it.Chaim and the vaunted Red Sox pitching program seemed to have a lot of guys fizzle out at the 80-100 inning mark.
That they got all the guys back from the IL and have stunk this bad down the stretch doesn’t look good for Cora, Bloom, or anyone really.Maybe Jason Carrabis will be right and Bloom doesn’t make it past November.

The sox have been terrible at developing any home grown pitching going all the way back to the 2005 (Theo)That they got all the guys back from the IL and have stunk this bad down the stretch doesn’t look good for Cora, Bloom, or anyone really.
They were 68-60 after routing the Astros on 8/24. Have lost 9 of 13 since the Dodger series.
Don't cut them short, they can sign DHs really well too!Let's look at the positive: They do a swell job developing DHs!
10-12 at Fenway overall since the All Star break.1-11 in homestand openers. Unbelievable.
They last wore them on August 13 against Detroit and won. Don’t know why they stopped. What happened to the yellow jerseys?
John Henry loves the tomato jerseys, so maybe he's been attending more? They last wore them on August 13 against Detroit and won. Don’t know why they stopped.
This is what I think, but most important, I hope it's what the Sox think during the off-season.Yeah it's something Bello will have to improve on. But he's so good otherwise that it's ok. I think Houck is what he is, which is a tremendously capable reliever that should be able to give them 90-100 innings of excellent pitching. He's just not cut out to be a starter unless he adds some sort of weapon that he's not yet discovered.
