This BC team is so disappointing.
Down 1-0 after yet another mistake.
EDIT: Bailed out by Hockey East officials.

And they go to OT!behindthepen said:Tonight Harvard and Yale will play each other the SIXTH time this season. This time for a semi-final slot in the ECAC.
Harvard lost the first 3 in the regular season, but won 3-2 Friday night. Yale won again yesterday 2-0.

Hey at least you have New Haven....
I think both stay. Red Wings like to take it slow with prospects (Larkin)*, and while Werenski has a high ceiling, he's nowhere near NHL-ready. Kid was 17 for a lot of the season and has to get bigger and stronger and refine his gamesachmoney said:Michigan leading Wisconsin 5-1 with just over 2 to play. The Larkin line has 4 of the goals. Larkin would be the best freshmen in America in most years. He may be the fourth best this year (Eichel, Hanafin, Werenski). May be the second best on his own team (Werenski). I'm so frustrated that this team is playing for its life in this tournament. Hopefully, we can win this god damn conference tournament.
I really hope we can keep Larkin and Werenski.
I told my roommates exactly this last night.twibnotes said:The way Mich hockey has been of late, we will beat sparty tomorrow and lose in the finals after having 3 goals waved off.

mabrowndog said:* Mercyhurst & Robert Morris knotted 2-2 after two. Loser goes home. Winner awaits either Rensselaer or Canisuis for the AHC title game.
mabrowndog said:* St. Cloud leads N. Dakota 2-1 heading to the 3rd. Winner gets Denver or Miami OH for the NCHC crown.
mabrowndog said:Scott Jacklin gives RMU the lead. Three straight goals for the Colonials. 1:31 left to play.
mabrowndog said:Darcy Murphy gets Colgate on the board at 3:21, and they take that lead over St. Lawrence into the locker room after one period.
EDIT - Mike Marnell ties it up for SLU a minute into the second frame.
this season they played in N Dakota, Niagara (NY!), Minot State, Illinois, so they're already used to travelling.sachmoney said:Yeah, at the same time, I'm not sure the NCHC or WCHA provide much closer playing options. The NCHC has teams in Ohio, Michigan, and Minnesota as well. The WCHA has teams in Alaska, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio, and Minnesota. And both of those conferences have more remote location schools than the B1G. Yes, there are closer destinations like Colorado, but there is still an extensive amount of travel.
ASU is so far away from everyone that they're going to travel a lot regardless. They're basically going to be a Huntsville or Alaska team. Lots of time on the road. At the same time, I would love them in the B1G. The B1G might be the only conference that could afford to add them. I'm not sure other conference schools would like the added expense of traveling to Arizona. It would give the B1G a foothold in some of the non-traditional hockey markets both for the Network and in terms of attracting talent (whether they'll start showing the games more extensively...that's another story). Personally, I would love to do a weekend trip to ASU.
Brian at MGoBlog had some good stuff on Hockey Expansion for the B1G. It starts near the middle.
my guess was Harvard needed that win to make the tournament. Does that do it?mabrowndog said:Elsewhere...
* Harvard knocks off Quinnipiac 5-2. They'll get either Colgate or St. Lawrence for the ECAC title. QU falls to 15th in the PWR, which might allow UML to edge them out for the last at-large if Lowell (currently 17th, with Yale in between them) hangs on for the W.

Mich dominating with nothing to show. Mich st is a lousy team with a lousy system and a good goalie

mabrowndog said:Flipped to CBSSN just in time to see Anthony Louis score on a beautiful 3/4-ice rush up the left side, deking left and backhanding it past Evan Cowley's left pad to give Miami a 2-1 lead on Denver in the final minute of the 1st. Riley Barber got the Redhawks on the board first at 14:15, but Will Butcher tied it for the Pioneers at 17:27.
mabrowndog said:Murphy's second goal breaks the deadlock at 5:46 of the 2nd, but Eric Sweetman ties it again on a power play for St. Lawrence at the 17:23 mark.
mabrowndog said:Joe Wilson makes it 3-2 Colgate at 2:33 of the 3rd.
mabrowndog said:* Brad McClure just scored his 2nd of the game and Minnesota State leads Ferris, 2-0 with 4:40 left in the 2nd.
mabrowndog said:* Brad McGowan scores with 23 secs left in the 1st and RIT takes a 1-0 lead on Canisus into the locker room. The Griffs have just 6 shots on net.
