#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

I've also been skeptical of the interpretation of that part of the report that they could just deliver some print outs of texts or whatever. More probable than not it meant that TB AND Wells' staff could go through them *together* and decide what would become "officially" part of the report.

@realDonaldTrump: People are so jealous of Tom Brady and the Patriots. No court could convict based on the evidence. They can't beat him on the field, so this!

@realDonaldTrump: Why do we always try to destroy our true champions and winners in this country, while at the same time leaving the losers alone? STUPID!
Dude, fucking stop.

Good God, shut the fuck up with your double posted hot Tweet takes. Get an opinion(that doesn't involve the entire NFL going on strike for Brady)  and put it out there.

My opinion? Patrick Peterson is a dick head, and Jerry Rice can run backwards as fast as forwards, apparently.

How about the on the first offensive series for the Patriots, they break the huddle and go into formation.

With no QB, just ten men.

And then let the play clock run down to zero.

Five yard penalty, second down, #10 trots out onto the field.

Me thinks the stadium will go berserk.

The Seahawks are in the process of doing just that. TAMU allowed them to use "12th man" with some sort of yearly payment, because the paraphernalia was pretty much limited to the Northwest. Once the Seahawks became a thing, the "12th man" shit blew up, and TAMU realized they were getting hosed and didn't renew Seattle's license to using "the 12th man". So now they have to go with "12" and calling their fans "12s".
Here's an article I found on it:

How long do appeals usually take? Or will the NFL begin leaking like a used diaper once the appeal starts?

Or just snap it to the running back and not take the penalty

I love that the NFL's statement iterates how they relied upon the "independence" of the investigation.

I am all for the players doing whatever, including walking out on game 1. But if the team is involved, Glampers will just take another 4 picks away.

Every game TB is suspended for is a game that the nfl is trying to FIX. Any of those games that result in a Pats loss could affect who does and doesn't make the playoffs. If that does come to pass the playoffs have therefore been FIXED! I love that typing sus after "TB is" brings up "suspended" as an option on my iPad. Does Apple know what this thread is about?

Rice was suspended indefinitely on September 8th after the video came out. The ruling of the appeal came about six weeks later.

Apple isn't a search engine, those suggestions are from your search engine of choice selected.

As to being fixed, there's easier ways to fix it than this.

When were the Pats videotaping other teams' practices?

The same year Doug Flutie put on Brady's helmet (despite Brady being on the field at the time) and they never turned off the mics. Try to keep up!

Right because the NFL has a history of making sure leaks don't happen.
Sometimes situations are shitty and you have to choose between two undesirable alternatives (someone leaking pics of Giselle stolen from your phone and getting suspended because the NFL decided to make an example out of you for not cooperating with an investigation). The average man in the street would wonder why someone, when accused of doing something, wouldn't help support their claims, even if it only helped incrementally. I know I would.

Kraft just issued a statement, vaguely stating he wouldn't accept the punishments. What legal recourse does he have, if any?

It's too bad that by the time any internal appeals process is complete and any Federal suit is filed I would guess the NFL will have likely conveniently changed computer systems and had to clean out file storage.

I think you guys are misreading Kraft's statement.  I think he is merely saying it was his intention to simply take the punishment, but he cannot and so he has issued the statement.

I think the statement is all there is -- I think that's his not taking it.

Yee already made a rebuttal.  And the appeal is in the process of being filed.

The Brady camp can do some PR, but the main strategy now is to win the appeal first, and the way to do that is to put Goodell on notice that Brady and the NFLPA will accept nothing less than an independent arbitrator.  There's no need to rebut the points of the Wells report in the press; if anything, that could only hurt them.

Once the appeal ruling comes down, then Brady can take it to the court of public opinion.  Keep in mind that Ray Lewis is a hero to most NFL fans.

I would not count on a resolution before mid-August. Remember, Rice's appeal was focused on two issues primarily -- could they punish Ray twice, and sis he mislead the League? The appeal here is likely to be broader and more complicated.

Also Roger could delay things if he insists on being the appeals judge. That likely would lead to a rubber stamp or slight diminution, then Brady has a decision to make. He would have to sue and seek a preliminary injunction to prevent the suspension.

My love for Kraft will go up immensely if if he goes to war on this.

I do not, sadly, expect this is what will actually happen.

My sense is that if he does, much of it will be behind the scenes.

I don't agree, that reads to me that he's at least going to be speaking with his lawyers to what options he has.

Starting to think this is going to end with either a new commissioner or a new Patriots owner.

Had figured the Pats would support Brady, take the punishment and seethe, and Kraft would cut Goodell's legs out if the chance arose.  This sounds like it might be a prelude to a full out war, and I don't think both parties survive.

Goodell AND Vincent should burn. Would have been disappointed to not have Kraft fighting back nor not back Brady 100%.

Do not go gently into that good night.
