Or perhaps the other owners and Kraft patching things up a bit.
I wonder how hard it is to get on those committees. It seems like they become close to a full time job for the owners but 97% of your work benefits the other 31 owners. Increasing like tv revenues by 6% a year rather than 5% a year on a base of about $200 million isn't a terrific use of time for somebody worth $3 billion (it might be cool in other ways-some guys are deal junkies and hobnobbing with owners and ceos and all isn't a terrible way to spend you time). If I'm an owner and I more or less trust Jones/Richardson/Kraft/Mara and the league staff to handle things reasonably well--and when it comes to contract negotiations and the like it appears they do--then I'd just keep a low profile on league matters and spend my time elsewhere.
Fess up. We won't just forgive you, we'll promote you.MarcSullivaFan said:Given his winning personality, I'm sure there is no one other than the multitude of Pats fans here in Indy who would want to slash Greg Doyel's tires.
Agreed. That looks like a blowout, to me, too. Unless the slasher used a curved knife.Scriblerus said:That yellow residue makes me think the guy curbed it hard and blew out the tire himself. It looks more like a tear than a knife cut...

We have bingo. That's pretty clearly a shitty driver tear.

Agreed, Ive had more than one girlfriend do that and that's exactly what it looks like. Unless someone did it with a friggin ice cream scoop, a knife doesn't leave that shape of a hole.
I've fucked up some rims in my day, so by no means am I throwing stones. But yeah, I think we are all in agreement.nighthob said:
I mean I'm a shitty driver and I've done that before. Doyel may or may not have done this, all I see is a photo of a tire. For all I know he could have seen someone park badly, blow out a tire, and then snapped a photo with his phone so that he could drag out the victim card that's all the rage these days.
Good that you pulled those girlfriends out from under the bus, sort of.Papelbon's Poutine said:I've fucked up some rims in my day, so by no means am I throwing stones. But yeah, I think we are all in agreement.
Goodell being interviewed for 60 Minutes
But for an interview on ESPN Radio that happened minutes after an ESPN article emerged that made him look not so good for his handling of the Spygate controversy and its aftermath, Commissioner Roger Goodell has stayed out of sight.
That’s ending tonight; via multiple reports, Goodell is being interviewed by CBS’s 60 Minutes at MetLife Stadium, in advance of Thursday night’s game between Washington and the Giants.
Steve Kroft of CBS News is handling the interview, which via NJ.com is being conducted on the field at a “makeshift set with lights and cameras.”
Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post reports that a pair of NFL P.R. executives are listening to the conversation via headphones. As someone pointed out in response to that on Twitter, it’s possible they’re actually hearing a Patriots radio broadcast.
It’s not known when the interview will be televised, and it’ll be interesting to see how hard-hitting the interaction will be. On one hand, there’s a firewall between CBS News and the network’s broader business interests. On the other hand, CBS has a strong relationship with the NFL — and CBS surely hopes to retain the Thursday Night Football simulcast indefinitely.
Safe to assume the power provided to light up the Meadowlands tonight is courtesy of Edward R. Murrow and Eric Sevareid spinning in their graves.soxhop411 said:

I'm not concerned with Brady this season, I'm just asking the about the actual process of filing motions/time to respond etc.oral arguments, the nuts and bolts of the appeal process.dcmissle said:Chill out; it's not happening.
This is some high quality trolling by Carton and his source.
There is no way this gets resolved by Feb; none.
bluefenderstrat said:They'll just make some noise now and then during the season, they quietly slink off next March or so, right? Or maybe the source is Vincent, who just might be that dumb.
Thanks-the appellate decision sounds like a mid-2016 event at its earliest.dcmissle said:There is not even a briefing schedule yet -- and there are three briefs to be filed. One can expect the NFL to get a month, the NFLPA to get a month to respond, then the NFL to get 2 weeks to file a reply brief.
Then oral argument must be scheduled and occur. Then the case is submitted and decided.
Sportsbstn said:Lets be honest, anyone these days can claim an "unnamed source" and get ratings. Carton is the definition of a bafoon. My guess is he made it up.
Damn it, beaten to the idiot Vincent joke.bluefenderstrat said:They'll just make some noise now and then during the season, they quietly slink off next March or so, right? Or maybe the source is Vincent, who just might be that dumb.

I can't imagine why anyone would take anything he says seriously.
When did Esiason become such a mouth breather? He was never intelligent but that clip puts him with the dumbest of the dumb in all this. When you disagree or don't understand a judge's ruling just scream "He is legislating from the bench!"SeoulSoxFan said:
I probably listen to more Boom & Carton show than any reasonable Boston sports fan should.
He is not a troll like the way Doyel or Hubbuch is, but he is definitely hot-headed and is an abashed, dyed-to-the-wool, green-to-the-bones Jets fan. He has enough connections in the NYC area to get his little "scoops" (runs a lot of charity events), but they are at best 50-50.
I fully believe Carton. I just do not believe in this "influential NFL source" is dishing out, when all facts point to a 2016 ruling, and most likely in Brady's favor.
