#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

I'm starting to really hate the NFL.  Fuck this Pravda shit.  There's other things to gamble on and other ways to enjoy my Sundays.  I'm going to like read books and go outside and talk to people from now on.  Right after the Super Bowl.

There's a large portion of the NFL and the media that won't be satisfied until Belichick is gone from the league.

A thousand times this.

IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS COMING YOU JUST WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION.

Someone was always going to point a finger at the only Pats employee who had the balls inbetween them leaving the refs supervision and making their way to the field (and therefor the cameras).

Since they have found NOTHING on video and the refs can't possibly be to blame this was the ONLY POSSIBLE person to blame.
However, that person could sue the hell out of NFL if the leagues tries to blame on him, since he didn't do anything.

In which case the NFL is never going to be satisfied.

Any attempt to suspend Brady without even interviewing him will be immediately appealed by the NFLPA and overturned with 99% certainty.

Any attempt to suspend Belichick will likely cause Kraft to go nuclear.

The fact that the NFL refuses to acknowledge anything proves that this is nothing more than a witch hunt.

Seems highly probably that in a hissy fit, the league scoured all their "evidence" for anything "suspicious" with which to feed the beast and settled on the last thing they "have"--a ballboy bizarrely not setting a 100 meter world record.

This is serious stuff.  We've now moved beyond exposing the media for their ignorance and have established that Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson are also perhaps idiots as well.

Breaking News:  Patriot's ball boy was seen swapping out footballs during Rams walkthrough video prior to SB36.

Thanks NFL for fucking up Super Bowl week. At this point, even if the Pats cheated they fucking need to drop every single dime they have. Fuck everyone. Win the game then fold the fucking franchise and tell Goodell to fuck off.

It's 6 days before the Super Bowl and I can't go to a single website without this shit popping up.

It's horrible.  It's less enjoyable than the week(s) leading up to last year's Superbowl, which was supposed to be Peyton's coronation.

Ugh!  I love NDT and was hoping he would chime in with real science.  Unfortunately, he isn't exactly up to speed with the situation.  He obviously didn't listen to Saturday's press conference.  Also, I believe 15% is the difference if using gauge pressure.

Can someone add the differences between gauge pressure and whatever else is going on to the OP?  And maybe a link to the YouTube vid with the experiment?  That's just as helpful as a recap of what started the whole mess, IMO.

The NFL has zeroed in on a New England Patriots locker room attendant who allegedly took the AFC Championship Game balls from the officials' locker room to another area on the way to the field, Fox Sports reported, citing sources.

According to Fox Sports, the league has interviewed him and has video.

The league is still gauging if any wrongdoing occurred, but he is a strong person of interest, according to the report.

The league office is openly working to smear the Patriots.

New Yorker Neil Degrasse Tyson with impeccably orchestrated timing, working, I assume, from potentially false 2 psi numbers.

If there's video of the ball boy disappearing for even more than 30 seconds, it's over.  It doesn't matter if there's not evidence of actual tempering or that the science could have played out innocently.  Given the narrative that's already happened, no one would believe he didn't mess with the balls.  And no one would believe that Brady didn't tell him to.

They should definitely erase that tape.
It's okay, they smashed the video recorder as well as the ball attendant's cell phone, but apparently he sent a text to his sister alerting her that he was "going to deflate the balls for NFL"  He followed up that text with another that read "just so you know"

The largest pressure drop number we have seen reported is 2 PSI.  A drop from 13 PSI to 11 PSI is actually an 8% drop in pressure, since the absolute pressures are 27.7 -> 25.7 PSI.

So basically NdGT confused gauge pressure and absolute pressure, like a few of SoSH posters who aren't fucking astrophysicists did upthread.  That's rookie level shit.

Of course, if he DID take a piss, there would be no cameras, which would mean....nothing and everything.
Boy is the NFL gonna be pissed when they find out that Chuck Berry installed the security video cameras at Gillette.

Once again Glazer gets a leak out of NFL HQ designed to inflict maximum damage on the Pats. These folks need to be flushed out of there, Mr. Kraft.

It has been reported that they did this during the NFL visit last week.  This is probably how they know about the locker room attendant pit stop in the first place.

Mr Kraft's move, if he has the checkbook willingness and stomach to do it, is to tell Rog that media talk/access is done for the week.

Or, barring that, have every player and every coach answer every question with 'we're focused on Seattle.  Looking forward to a tough challenge" regardless of subject or question.

This definitely explains why only 11 of the 12 balls were low. He only had enough time to deflate those balls without raising suspicion.

Well, yesterday there were some tweets walking back the "11 of 12" meme as well.
