I just hope the restructured contract will give the McCourty twins enough money to afford separate Twitter accounts.
No. Keep it a shared account. Keep Goodell guessing which one is which.

I wonder what the over/under is on how many McCourty trade threads are primed at the pump, waiting to be posted?

If he gets traded today, does Belichick let him play in the game on Sunday?
Why not? Maybe not every snap, but his assignments shouldn't be particularly complicated.

On the other hand, the Patriots have been dangerously low on Rutgers players ever since Tim Wright left.
Jonathan Freeny stepped in to make sure we didn't fall below 4.

If this happens the human interest stories are going to be unbearable...but a price I'm willing to pay.
Me too. And this will basically free up half of draft weekend.

I've been thinking recently that the roster is as deep as it's ever been - CB aside -- and JMac would take care of that.  They don't need a billion late round picks right now -- too many of them will get cut.  What picks they do have  need to be used more for roster upgrades than depth.  That's a tall order - the roster is stacked.

edit: this assumes that much of the current roster will be kept in place long-term....which I don't think is unreasonable.

I'm on board with McCourty, but would still like to see a live body that can play offensive tackle added. That positional depth worries me the most.

This is where I'm at. It seems as though O-line is more of an immediate need

As a Raiders fan, there are few things John Elway could do right now that would make me happier than shoving a bunch of guaranteed money onto the 2016 & 17 salary caps and trading multiple high draft picks.

They have to push $10M this year to the right to fit Thomas. I really hope that is guaranteed money for Manning next year or at least Ware.

True. But losing their LT and having a diminishing QB window forces their hand

And now Stewart can say the deal was done, but they couldn't agree on a contract restructure ... and still claim to be correct

Was pressure on the QB a problem for Denver? I know manning has sucked. But I thought he was still getting the ball out quickly. Just getting it out quickly and shitty. Or are people concerned about this because if could make the Denver running game stronger?

They lost Ty Sambrailo after losing Ryan Clady at left tackle

Yeah, would've made them scarier this year, but without a 1st and 2nd they're basically pushing all their chips in the near future onto Manning's corpse, BO, one of the crappy FA's or a wing and a hope in the 3rd round at QB.

Deal was bad for Denver, marginally good for the Pats that it didn't get done but not exactly going to be shaking in my boots if Denver picked up one (very good) lineman.
