Lots of bad calls at convenient times for Denver tonight.  I don't think it's a conspiracy, I just think NFL refs are largely incompetent and bad at their jobs.

Where was the evidence the ball was over the plane?

They'd need evidence that it wasn't to overturn the call on the field.  I didn't see any way they could overturn it.  When his back was to the camera, the ball could have been over the line.

That said, no idea how the ref made the call in the first place because he had the same view we did.  He didn't make the call until the runner landed on his ass and at that point, the ball was in the end zone, but he was down way before that.

I'm fairly certain he was being sarcastic.

Sorry, didn't catch that.  I know that the lack of ratings up until this year when it was still on the NFL Network was a big topic of conversation.

Umm, except for the 16 million viewers they've been averaging this year.  Up 140% from last year.  And i imagine those numbers will be higher with Manning on tonight. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/10/17/thursday-night-football-ratings-on-cbsnfl-network-soar-with-triple-digit-increases/316472/

Isn't this also the first year it has been simulcast on CBS?  I'd have to imagine there are some people tuning in to watch Big Bang Theory or something, and get football instead.

edit: nevermind, it's been covered.

San Diego should be tied, if not winning, with the bullshit non-interception and the bullshit kickoff fumble. That fumble alone was a 14 point swing.

Oof, how do you give him a touchback? More teams should popping it between the levels and chasing the ball.

I'm only half paying attention now, but did Denver really just attempt a FG from the 45 with a 14-point lead?
