"A series of egregious calls" and he links one? And I bet the call he links is graded by the NFL as 100% correct. The NFL tells their officials to be "extremely liberal" with the definition of catchable. If there is any chance that any player could get even a finger on the ball if they were uncontacted, whether inbounds or out of bounds, it's catchable. If you aren't sure, it's catchable. If it doesn't land in the stands, it's catchable. The NFL wants to err on the side of punishing the defense who potentially makes illegal contact. "If in doubt, foul. Stopping touching the receivers".

So really on this play you are just judging the severity of the contact. It certainly wouldn't be enough in the college game, but the NFL doesn't want their receivers touched. Period.

Gonna be hilarious when the Pats beat Miami but then lose to the Commanders
If the Patriots actually found something today and managed to get past Miami next week - which isn’t what I think will happen - they could go on a little run.

Their schedule gets very soft after Miami for five games. If this team actually took a real leap today (I think it was more Buffalo sleeping), and they upset Miami, they could win their next five games.

I think they win five games max this year, but I’d love for today to be some big turning point and for me to be totally wrong.

Miami may be the class of the division and/or conference, but their D sucks. It is Patriots 2011 level bad. 25 ppg.

From week to week, I'm not sure what teams are good anymore. Thankfully, I do not bet.
they are -42 against teams above .500 in 6 quarters. Beat The 0-6 Panthers, 2-5 Pats, Broncos and Giants and the 2-5 Chargers. Everyone allowed when they put up 70 but they aren’t good.

He’ll be calling games til he’s 80. Probably waiting to get his son in the booth with him. We’ll never be rid of the Collinsworths.
His son is not a good PBP guy (he doesn’t have the pipes for it, for one, which should be disqualifying at this level), but he’s already got Notre Dame games on NBC.

Kelce talked about the guard getting called offsides on his podcast. He uses a 4-point stance on sneak plays. How the refs screw that up at this point I have no idea.

Hill can erase so many mistakes quickly and credit to Tua as he puts it where it needs to be

I agree completely. I bet he works super cheap. And nepotism is a real thing. Hence things like the Mike Golic Jr. Radio show.

McDaniels sounds like Napoleon Dynamite.
He kinda sounds drunk to me to be perfectly honest... semi-slurring his words with kind of generic nonsensical answers.

But I guess he is in recovery and can't imagine he is actually drunk, that would be crazy.

McDaniel once again outsmarts himself. Thanks, genius!
The play was there. Officials missed the DPI. Which happens — non-calls are part of the game. But I can’t say McDaniel did anything wrong

Seems like that should be a penalty. That amount of contact in the face mask definitely affects the receiver going back to the ball.
Only official in a position to make the call was behind the receiver and couldn’t see the fleeting face-mask grab. Tough break.
