Can't wait to hear all the commotion when the Pats take him at #93.

No, not equally. This was the highest pick and therefore had the best players passed up. This pick is going to help the team win games less than a lot of picks made after it.soxfan121 said:I bet Brady hated the Cassel pick, the O'Connell pick, the Hoyer signing, the Mallet pick and this pick equally. He's a competitor and this is competition.
Is that what was wrong with Matt Millen?SpacemanzGerbil said:Do the Lions have a scouting staff or do they just rely on National and Blesco like Cinci does? Seems like they always pick in line with the pubs.

That's a door, not a window. I hope you don't have this same sort of confusion of openings in regard to C-sections.soxfan121 said:
Who said he's special? He's just going to try and sign somewhere that a HOF QB isn't startingwibi said:You could say this about every team in the NFL with almost every backup QB. It doesnt make Mallett more special to other teams

The 49ers came into this draft with a million picks they almost had to move around with deals. They almost couldn't use them all.( . ) ( . ) and (_!_) said:Remember when the pats were the team wheeling and dealing all over draft boards? That was fun. Watching San Fran move around is making me sad.

that's even more ducked up than the pick itself. Who uses ie? Who Is holding you hostage? Is this some weird techy bondage torture stuff?Deathofthebambino said:Dog or whoever, you can move my last post. I can't copy and paste here because I'm on IE.
I know. The miners are kind of taking it to an extreme this year but it still makes me miss the years when the pats had ammo to wheel and deal. It was fun times.Rough Carrigan said:The 49ers came into this draft with a million picks they almost had to move around with deals. They almost couldn't use them all.

I don't like the pick but mostly because I know nothing of this guy. Just checked and the cap savings to cutting Brady in 2017 is $9m--wonder if drafting a QB this year was part of the plan all along?
Of course, that doesn't explain round 2 except: Because Tavon Wilson.

And for those not paying attention, turn on the Sox game now. Even if you are taping it.

I don't think it matters if he's good or not. Good QBs are taken almost every year. It doesn't help now, and he may never start a game. That's the problem. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Brady played through Graoppolo's contract, or if a great positional player was drafted just after him.
Jurrell Casey and Julius Thomas were drafted just after Mallett. How'd that work out?
Dude, you are on IE and earlier you wrote the words "Marshall Faulk just made a good point". -2Deathofthebambino said:Dog or whoever, you can move my last post. I can't copy and paste here because I'm on IE.
Well, John Moffitt (already retired) was drafted right after Mallett.phragle said:

At some point in the near future TB is gonna hit the wall, like most late 30 athletes do. Even Jetes got old and fell apart after a strong year in 2012. I got no problem being proactive on this front drafting a possible successor to TB. Whether JG is the right guy is another question.DrewDawg said:

Patriots source explained on Garoppolo, they need to find Brady’s replacement at some point. He’ll be 40 during Jimmy G’s deal. Is this it?

Aaron Murray is still on the board, just waiting for BB's call.
By the way, who watches the draft in a Denny's?
Deathofthebambino said:I had a long, long post detailing everything I think was wrong with the pick and I just deleted it. It's not worth it. Anyone who follows college football should be able to know it was bad as they watch immediate impact players get picked one after another while we sit around with our thumbs in our ass. The Pats are SO DAMNED CLOSE to winning a Super Bowl right now, and this pick did nothing, not one thing to help in that regard. If Tom Brady gets hurt and JG plays a game this year, the Pats aren't winning shit. If he gets hurt and JG plays next year, the Pats aren't winning shit then either. Had they filled a couple of the holes that they needed to fill and caught lightning in a bottle, they could win the Super Bowl. That's the bothersome part.
Man, normally I love BB's trolling. Fucking love it. It's one of my favorite things about him having him as our coach. I've questioned maybe 2 moves since he got here, but this one hurts today.
Eric Ampersand said:The most generous take on the Garoppolo pick is that Bill is planning to burn high picks on QBs over the next few years to increase the odds of getting a legit Brady heir. Unless, of course, they hit with Garoppolo.
