Whitlock’s stuff is dreadful. How was this not apparent in his rehab outings and bullpens?
I’m sure it was, what were the other options? You guys would’ve been losing your minds if they put in someone other than Chris Martin who can’t pitch every night.

Whitlock was just unhittable on Sunday. This is a shock to everyone on that coaching staff right now, I’m sure.

Whitlock must be hurt again
Certainly doesn't look like he's loose. Hoping it's a dead arm phase. On the thread on the main board earlier in the season, DRS was not very sanguine about his elbow issue healing despite the "good news" reports from the Sox.

I’m saying he probably should still be on the IL if he’s going to sit 92 coming out of the bullpen. I tend to agree that if he’s on the roster, like for tonight’s game, they have to use him.

You really want to blame the manager for this one? Guys been dependable out of the the pen anytime he’s been used out of there. What was he supposed to do?
Put him into some lower leverage games to begin with. Granted, he would have to have used one or two of the relievers that pitched last night and maybe he didn't want to do that.

I know you don’t ever plan on good relievers getting shelled but it always looks bad when you pull a starter a little early and give extra chances for a different pitcher who may or may not have it that night.

I don’t blame Cora for this one per se, just how it goes sometimes. It feels worse because the offense was so shit all night then suddenly tied it.

He pitched 2 innings the other night, how many games is he supposed to hold him back?

I'd have more empathy for the naysayers if they complained about him coming into the game before he started to pitch
