The combination of balls filled to the minimum psi required plus weather also explains how the 12 balls used were below the required level while the 12 reserve balls weren't.

I have never seen him like this.
That was a tour de force performance, and perfect for the moment.
The national media will likely find a way to kill him for this, but knowing how he usually approaches these situations, I could not be happier with what he said or how he said it.

The guy is so freaking thorough. When I was in college, more than once, it was impossible on an exam to solve a problem because intermediate data could not be plotted on a graph. Pointed it out to the professors and they said "oh yeah, you're right." Thanks a lot. But, Belichick nails everything down to the 0th degree. Awesome guy.

I don't care if this changes the media's perception or whatever, but it sure changes mine. I was ready to throw up when they made the press conference announcement, now I'm ready to run through a wall. The NFL has NOTHING because there is nothing. Can't wait for the game.

Did he mean that their balls ate 1 psi higher than normal? I highly doubt he would screw that up but Brady likes Hus footballs on the soft side and their prep work increases the PSI. Is it possible to rub a ball and increase PSI? Honest question for the smart folks. It also sounds like he was saying that the refs would need to or did release air to 12.5.
