I hope Rachel Nichols has back up transportation for the next commish presser. I suspect she'll have some "car trouble" that day.
Well, he's available to his chosen media lackeys for suspiciously timed leaks.Mooch said:Don Van Natta Jr. @DVNJr · 2m2 minutes ago
"I'm available to the media almost every day of my job professionally." Goodell has rejected every interview request I've made since 2012.

You know the rules, you want time with the Rog, you need to provide some Skyline Chili to grease the skids.theapportioner said:Well, he's available to his chosen media lackeys for suspiciously timed leaks.

Well, we do have Belichick...DennyDoyle'sBoil said:Pollian -- this is a societal issue, because a portion of the player come from bad environments, and that's the real issue.
I'm embarrassed to be an old white man, because our fucking spokespeople really suck.
I seriously had to check to see if Polian had a stroke recently, I don't remember his speech being so slow and tough to hear.DennyDoyle'sBoil said:Pollian -- this is a societal issue, because a portion of the player come from bad environments, and that's the real issue.

Hannah and Schefter -- never a bad time to talk about it.
Herm says he "agrees," but then says, "but after the game".

Goodell:
“Roger, you guys have faced a lot of problems over this past year that have a really wide range, but a lot of the issues have in common the conflict of interest. When you do something like hire an outside investigator like Ted Wells into the Patriots investigation, you’re still paying him and Robert Kraft who owns the Patriots is still paying you. So even when you do everything right in one of those situations, it opens you guys up to a credibility gap with some of the public and even with some of your most high-profile players. What steps can you guys take in the future to mitigate some of those conflict of interest issues?”
“Well, Rachel, I don’t agree with you in a lot of the assumptions you make in your question. i think we have had people that have had uncompromising integrity. robert mueller is an example. i think you asked me the same question last fall about a conflict of interest. their integrity is impeccable. ted wells’ integrity is impeccable. these are professional that’s bring in outside expertise, outside perspective. and their conclusions are drawn only by the evidence and only by the attempt to try to identify that truth. so i think we have done an excellent job of bringing outside consultants in. somebody has to pay them, rachel. so unless you’re volunteering, which i don’t think you are, we will do that. but we have the responsibility to protect the integrity of the league, whether we have an owner that’s being investigated or whether we have a commissioner that’s being investigated, they’re done at the highest level of integrity and quality.”

Right, this is exactly the issue, but nobody else talking about it has seemed to pick that up.Shelterdog said:
If I'm a random owner the leak issue is my biggest problem. As a team owner I want ieague investigations and discipline issues and cheating allegations to all be handled in a black box so the PR hit from anything is minimal, but now because Kensil (or whoever) has a hard-on for the Pats and doesn't understand the ideal gas law and feels empowered to leak away you've got a PR disaster and if the Pats millions of people will idiotically think it's a tainted trophy no matter what the truth is.

Robert Kraft did not attend Goodell's press conference. He's always there. Speaks volumes
