Oh yeah, duh. I was thinking about the more historical guys and despite basketball being such a genetically gifted sport, I'm surprised more all-time greats didn't have random brothers in the NBA. Giannis and I guess Steph would be the two that come to mind, but I think Seth is a pretty good player and statistically one of the best shooters in history, so its tough to lump him in with like, Kostas and Thanasis.Giannis?
Skimming the list Pau was the highest I saw with an NBA brother. Their total VORP is about 94 (would be 6th all time).I'm trying to think of any real all-time greats that had shitty brothers that were also in the league. Like, in baseball if you wanted to add up combined WAR, the best baseball brothers of all time are Henry and Tommie Aaron.
VORP isn't a big Seth Curry fan, although I believe they're still 2nd lifetime (56.3 + 3.9) over the Wilkins' (50.6 + 5.3).Oh yeah, duh. i didn't see much of the game, but I did see the final 3 min or so, and Kuminga made 2 outstanding passes setting up what should have been easy buckets for a teammate. I must admit that little bit impressed me a great dealKuminga highlights from last night...

Dude is 18. With the hair grown out, what he really reminds me of right now is a 6'-8" version of last year's Anthony Edwards: still mostly clueless, but just stronger and more athletic than all the other guys on the floor. Like an elite NFL linebacker playing with a bunch of skinny hoopers.
The play at 0:45 where Franz Wagner tries to D him up and just bounces off of him made me feel like an epic doofus for wanting Wagner at #7.
Jump shot is still very much a work in progress — Edwards looked like more of a natural in that regard, as even his bricks looked nice out of his hands, where Kuminga looks like he may need to get with a shot doctor, à la Kawhi. But if/when the shot comes around ... wow.
Yeah Cooper definitely has ability on the offensive end. He doesn't have the high end quickness you'd want to see from a smaller player, but he actually seems to do really well changing speeds. Definitely had a much harder time getting into the paint today than he did vs PP the other night. He and Johnson flash a lot for Atlanta, but both are also turnover machines.Sharife Cooper killed it tonight at least offensively. 5-8 on threes including the game winner while navigating the paint at will. He was out of position defensively that resulted in layups on two possessions that I saw.
George and Ed Mikan are probably as close to the Aaron brothers as you’ll get.I'm trying to think of any real all-time greats that had shitty brothers that were also in the league. Oh yeah Yost that's a good pull. Ed was a good player in college but a role player in the pros.George and Ed Mikan are probably as close to the Aaron brothers as you’ll get.
I was reading about them during my research. George was one of the best players in the league because he shot 40% & Ed was bad because he only shot 32%.Oh yeah Yost that's a good pull. Ed was a good player in college but a role player in the pros.

I don't think they're winning the 2 on 2 tournament...

Not an all time great by most definitions, but Klay's brother played 5 games in the NBA in 2011-12, followed by an extended mediocre career in the g leagueI'm trying to think of any real all-time greats that had shitty brothers that were also in the league. He had a brother that had a war of 0.4 in mlb. That is pretty shitty. Not an all time great by most definitions, but Klay's brother played 5 games in the NBA in 2011-12, followed by an extended mediocre career in the g league
And amazingly still much better than his other brother Mychel who had -.2 win shares with a 2.2 PER in his 5 nba gamesHe had a brother that had a war of 0.4 in mlb. That is pretty shitty.
Some of them, got there a half hour after gates opened, waited in line for an hour to get the topshot moments, watched the Cs game, then watched half of the Pistons game to see Cade and left. Sad that I found out today that Jimmer was on the Denver team, got excited, and then it turned out he wasn't even with them yet because he'd just signed a few days ago. The upper bowl in the main gym wasn't open at all so it got mobbed for Cade and I decided I didn't want to stick around with that many people, many of them only kind of wearing masks.@scottyno Did you end up going to the games tonight?
We have worse guys on the active roster right now.He had a brother that had a war of 0.4 in mlb. That is pretty shitty.
It’s going to be interesting to see what GS does with him, Wiseman and Moody. Keep them as the bridge to the future or move them now to give Steph a shot at another title? Either way there should be a clear and decisive path. I could see holding for a couple years then begin moving pieces similar to Pierce/KG......aka the move that Red refused to make. That would solidify them for another decade plus.Kuminga rocking the 6 to 1 turnover to assist rate through 3 games. He is obviously athletic af, but he's not close to being ready to be a positive NBA player. If he gets there though it will be a ton of fun to watch.
If Beal doesn't funnel himself to Boston they're the obvious Beal team. Wiggins (32) + Wiseman (9) + Kuminga (5) + picks for Beal (34) + Kuzma (13) or something. It’s going to be interesting to see what GS does with him, Wiseman and Moody. From comments by Myers, Kerr, Steph, and Dray, I get the sense they’re cooling by the minute on the idea of moving the young assets for another “established star,” for any number of reasons, from the compounding luxury taxes on the $40M+ salary any of these guys are going to be pulling; to potential fit issues (on and off court); to the fact that they just added Porter Jr., Bjelica, and Iguodala on minimum contracts; to the emotional attachment and organizational pride that gets bound up in young prospects from the moment you draft them. It’s going to be interesting to see what GS does with him, Wiseman and Moody. I think with the Lakers experiment going on, the West is really wide open and the Warriors deserve to be considered strong contenders heading into the season.
I don’t think it’s that tricky to carry three developmental projects on the roster while also chasing a title. Santa Cruz is just two hours away. Poole has already graduated from the development program moved into the core rotation (probably tabbed to get ~30 mpg while Klay recovers). That gives a pretty deep and talented core of vets while Wiseman, Kuminga, and Moody develop: Curry, Poole, Lee, Thompson, Iguodala, Wiggins, Porter Jr., Toscano-Anderson, Green, Bjelica, Looney. You almost don’t want more vets than that, as it can complicate the natural pecking order.
Is that a championship core? Probably not, but having a top five guy at his peak gives you a puncher’s chance. Surround him with four fellow OG champions (Dray, Dre, Klay, Loon), trust that gym rat Poole at 22 is primed to take another leap forward, keep fingers crossed for good health for Klay and Porter Jr., and see what happens.
Anyway, I like that plan more than selling the farm (plus losing Wiggins or Green) for Beal or Simmons.
This is how I lean as well. They could get themselves up real nice for a dozen years while still remaining competitive with Curry. The Warriors will need a competitive team after Curry retires, to continue their cash printing machine. Two or three 24 win seasons post Curry could be bad for business.
Ownership already has championships. Cashing in their recent lottery draftees for vets might get them another title, but bringing them along with the Core Three (with ring chasing minvets) might get them too, while setting up the team post-Curry.

Curry is so absurdly good if Klay is anything like his former self they should start packaging kids/picks for veteran talent.Wiggins doesn't get any respect, and he doesn't deserve much based on the Timberwolf years, but he player Really well last season, especially on defense. I don't think you'll find a better #4 on a contender.
And while Wiseman is still developing. He doesn't need to be a #1 for this team, he needs to be the 5th best guy on the floor for 20-25 min a night without because a huge negative. I think he can do that.
Personally I think GS should keep their assets for now. If the season comes and Klay isn't back, or injuries occur, then maybe they use some of this dynamic young talent to go get a veteran, because other than maybe Simmons, I don't think anyone gets dealt in the offseason, at least not without a ridiculous overpay
Two of the following would need to occur to knock BOS out of the championship game:Haven't seen anything definitive, but it looks like the C's will be in the "championship game" Tuesday nite. In the event multiple teams end up 4-0, which is likely to be the case, point differential will be the tiebreaker, and the C's won by 2, 25, 37 and 20 points.
I'm too lazy to do the math on other teams, but I'm guessing that'll be tough to beat.
Thanks. I know summer league doesn't mean much, but I hope Yam is available tomorrow nite. Two of the following would need to occur to knock BOS out of the championship game:
MIN beats PHI (7pm ET) by 37+
NO beats GS (9pm ET) by 40+
SAC beats DAL (3pm ET) by 46+
UTA beats LAC (5pm ET) by 59+
BOS' 35 point win over ORL is the highest point differential to date, so I think you can write BOS into the championship game.

I'm an Ohio grad (from the Nee era) and I don't know why he left. I guessed he must have impressed at the combine camp they had.Jason Preston may be one of the most unimpressive rookies I’ve seen this week. I doubt he plays a single minute in the NBA.
Loved him as a college player but he doesn’t have the skill set to overcome his physical disadvantages at the NBA level. He’s really been exposed this week.I'm an Ohio grad (from the Nee era) and I don't know why he left. I guessed he must have impressed at the combine camp they had.
He's hitting some shots today, but other than assists it's been a pretty brutal week.
