I call it an over reaction. I wouldn't be shocked if they still were the #1 seed come January.

The Broncos Country game thread got a little grumpy - and slightly insane - towards the end of the game:
you can drink the kool-aid all you want. This team is not going anywhere this year. We are a disaster and it starts with Manning and the coaching staff
It was more fun watching Tebow, at least my expectations were low and enjoyed the games more. We'll now most likely have to play on the road in the playoffs...if we make it to the dance.
Manning is awful, I'm so done with him. Call this an over reaction, call it what you will. He gets stats, but has never been clutch, at all. Tim Tebow was more clutch than Manning ever was. I'm ready for Osweiler, Manning is a complete choke-artist!
Manning always had a pouty demeanor when a game doesn't go his way early. He is not a leader like Brady or Rodgers or Luck he doesn't fire his team up. Biggest fraud in professional sports

I didn't see the game, and ESPN has been light on info regarding these injuries. Aside from knowing that they occurred, can you provide any details as to what the injuries appeared to be (it sounds like one head injury and one _________?). Internet seems oddly quiet, considering how quickly they had Bradshaw updates.Ed Hillel said:
J. Thomas is also expected to be out, and I'd be surprised if Emmanuel Sanders is playing. Concussion is probably the best he could have hoped for there, he could have broken his neck.
Can't run the ball, have one legitimate passing threat, Manning may get killed.
Jeff Legwold @Jeff_Legwold 3m3 minutes ago
For #Broncos Julius Thomas stretched with team, but will not practice. Emmanuel Sanders not practicing either, Hillman and Ball also out.
"It's worse than bad — it's horrendous," said Mark Schlereth, the ESPN analyst and ex-Broncos Pro Bowl offensive lineman. "I watch every game of every team every week. It's bad technique-wise, athleticism-wise, toughness-wise. If I was grading, giving an F would be kind."
"I know I'm going to get a bunch of texts and calls for this, but I'm sick. I just broke down three (Denver) game films and it's sickening."
"The Broncos won't beat anybody come playoff time, nobody, unless we're healthy at the receiver position, running circles around people, and No. 18 is just shredding people. If there's a we-have-to-run-it situation, if there's a third-and-2, we might as well punt, because we're going to get shoved in the backfield."
"I went back and looked at the last three games — they don't block anybody," Schlereth said, beginning a rant akin to the old "other that that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?" line. "I mean, if it's not penetration, they're horrible from an athletic standpoint at getting to the second level. So they lose the line of scrimmage, getting shoved in the backfield, and then at the second level, half the time three guys are shoved back a yard or two and two guys have completely spin around because they've missed their guys and they're watching the action, lantern-holding, like: 'Be careful in there, it's really nasty!'
"This is where stats lie — I think the Broncos lead the league with the least sacks allowed at 11. That's all Peyton Manning, 100 percent, getting rid of the football. They have to be more talented with schemes and getting guys open, because at this point, they can't block their way out of a wet paper sack."
"I just watched (division rival) Kansas City, basically lay it on Seattle, and their O-line is fun to watch. And then I just watch (the Broncos) stuff, and I just want to throw up. ...
"We can sit here and dance around the subject, but they need to fire them all and start over."
Interesting comments, hope he's right. Note his use of "we" when referring to the Broncos.Morgan's Magic Snowplow said:Some pretty harsh words from Mark Schlereth on the Broncos o-line in a recent interview:
Pretty hilarious stuff. Its rare that a former player, especially a real media analyst with a clear fondness for his former team, just trashes guys like this.

The rest of what you're saying may be correct, but the bolded isn't. Clady's played every snap in 8 of 10 games, the only exceptions blowout wins over SF and OAK.Ed Hillel said:I think a big part of the problem is that Clady is looking like another potential career victim to the Lisfranc. He's looked terrible most of the season, and has even lost his spot at times. The difference between arguably best LT in the game to one of the worst has really hurt that team. I'd be shocked if he wasn't cut after the season, given the structure of his contract.
He's right in that no one is better at avoiding sacks than Peyton. It's one of Manning's best abilities.Marciano490 said:

I don't think this is right - Googling doesn't pull up anything, and I just spot-checked the all-22 and didn't see any cases where they swapped Clady and Vazquez. Again, that doesn't invalidate your point that Clady has been a disappointment.Ed Hillel said:I should have been clearer, he's been shifted over to RT to deal with the weaker rushers at times. Last week, they moved Louis Vazquez over to LT in the second quarter, I believe it was, because Clady kept getting burned by Quinn. Granted Quinn is awesome, but he had his probably his best half of the year against Clady.
This is true.Ed Hillel said:I don't think PFF distinguishes snaps at positions, just lists the starting position.

No practice today for Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders, TE Julius Thomas, RB Montee Ball.
http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_27068452/add-demaryius-thomas-broncos-lengthy-injured-listThe Broncos have one of game's best receivers and are days away from facing the league's No. 2 run defense. Put two and two together and it's clear the Broncos need Demaryius Thomas more than ever Sunday.
They might not get him, though.
Thomas sat out Thursday's practice after a teammate stepped on his right ankle during Wednesday's practice. His foot wrapped, Thomas hobbled around the Broncos' practice facility Wednesday, hardly appearing in game shape.
Coach John Fox said Thomas' ankle is bruised and that "he'll be fine" but his absence leaves his status for Sunday's game against Buffalo questionable.

we match up better with seattle now because with our new power game we couild win 17-14 aga them i think feb 1 but i been wrong more than ML Carr in the mid-90's
but without homefield i see no way we can beat NE at NE Denver cant cover TE'S and we c'ant win a shootout with brady as of now denver only shot is if the ravens win the north win the 5/4 game beat NE @ NE and Denver gets the 2 Seed beats INDY and then Balt

What's the scuttlebutt in Denver or among Denver fans about Peyton's last few games? Are people blaming it on injuries to him or the receiving corps, weather, age, a few bad games, etc?

Elway loves him too much i have tried on Mile High Report to say cut Tailb to make sure we can keep C Harris i think Manning stays through 16 unless he gets hurttims4wins said:
That's a good question Marciano. Not just the last few games, but what is the overall feeling right now? 2012 was Peyton's first year there, everyone was pysched, they got the 1 seed, won a bunch of games, scored a bunch of points, people weren't too mad when they lost because they would be even better in 2013. 2013 rolls around, they set all kinds of records, get the 1 seed again, make it to the Super Bowl, people are still happy because they got to the Super Bowl and then had a nice offseason to set themselves up in 2014. Now here we are in 2014, they don't look headed toward the 1 seed, people don't have a ton of confidence they will win it all... if they lose in the playoffs again will Denver fans say "enough with the Manning era"? Especially if he goes el busto again?

soxfan121 said:You are a smart man. Harris is not only a better corner, he's a better financial risk even after the ACL injury.
Great deal for the Broncos, especially as I doubt that entire $23M is fully guaranteed. I don't think Harris is nearly in the same class as the elite corners like Revis, Sherman, and Peterson. But there are a bunch of more comparable guys who signed several years ago, when the cap was substantially lower, for higher AAVs and probably comparable true guarantees (Brandon Carr, Lardarius Webb, Jonathan Joseph, Sam Shields, Leon Hall). If the Broncos are giving him a $10M bonus but only paying him $18M over the first two years, then they also are likely structuring the deal so that the cap hit next is tiny (3-6M range), which should help them with their upcoming cap squeeze.Rook05 said:Broncos lock up CB Chris Harris for five years at $42.5M, $23M guaranteed--$18M over the next two seasons. Sox and Rocks said:Good signing, and not a lot of money for a good corner. I think Harris was the most important of their impending free agents. D. Thomas is probably the best player of the bunch, but Harris plays a position that's hard to replace.
I don't think Denver needs J. Thomas. It's telling that their offense, especially their run game, has improved dramatically without him in the lineup. They are better with all-purpose tight ends like Green than the one-dimensional Thomas. Someone will pay J. Thomas big money, but if they're smart it won't be Denver.
