Heath Evans and Nate Burleson trying to understand physics is embarassing. Them going to creation theory is equally so.
NFLN should have found an actual scientist to appear---those two are no better equipped to discuss this subject than I am to play right tackle in the super bowl.

Right. I didn't mean to imply that the Pats would get off on a technicality.johnmd20 said:
Maybe the league doesn't have anything because there isn't anything to have?
Are you really quoting a fucking crappy Diane Keaton movie multiple times?njnesportsfan said:To Patriots, "Don't get even. Get Everything."
Too funny. Was watching NFLN all day and switched to Starz to watch this just before the BB press conference.E5 Yaz said:

Got any Steel Magnolias wisdom you want to apply?

Maybe that's why BB was late.Curt S Loew said:Too funny. Was watching NFLN all day and switched to Starz to watch this just before the BB press conference.

No. Here's what happened.
The Pats process to achieve desired texture artificially inflates PSI by 1. Refs get it at 12.5.
Then they play on a cold field. The PS drops by 1.5 because of the weather. But it also loses 1PSI it gained by the treatment process.
Then, when the ball gets back into heated offices, it gains 0.5 PSI.
This explains the lost 2PSI to a t.

Here's one article, but they said there were flyers put on the cars at Gillettesnowmanny said:I hadn't heard about the Carnegie-Mellon flyer...anyone see this elsewhere?

I credit Bill Belichick with taking issue seriously, for obviously spending time usually devoted to SB prep to educating himself on subject

That's not how I read it, and that physics doesn't make sense (if the difference from room temp to outdoor weather were 1.5 PSI, then it'd gain 1.5 PSI again going back inside to room temp). My read of his claim:
Ball rubbed/treated, increases by 1 PSI (presumably the process gets the ball about 20F warmer than room temp)
Refs get it to 12.5--this is 12.5 at the higher temp, though.
Ball goes onto field, drops 1.5 PSI (the 1.0 from rubbing, plus .5 from the temperature difference between indoor and out)
Ball goes back inside, regains .5 PSI (the .5 from indoor/outdoor temperature, but not the rubbing difference since the ball is only going back to room temp and not to the heightened rubbed temp).
Van Everyman said:Moss reporting that Carnegie Melon scientists found that the balls dropped between 1.8 and 1.95 PSI in similar conditions to the Colts game.
Corsi said:Moss said Carnegie Melon lab students were in Foxboro and conducted a test and balls dropped 1.8 to 1.95 psi
Nick Kaufman said:
Ok, that may be, but in that account, the ball's pressure is off by 1 not the reported 2 PSI.
I hope we see Pete Schweddy on SNL tonight.Nick Kaufman said:I don't like that the presser was done on the deadest time of the week to push news. I also fear the angle SNL is going to come out with, because it will probably stay with the collective consciousness.
Would love Billionaire Bob to but the Million Dollar Belt from WWE and carry it around over his shoulder all week.Hoya81 said:Nm. Delete.
